Ukies: Weekend Blowout Shoe Sale

I'm beyond stoked that UKIES is a having a weekend blowout sale.  If you're a shoe lover like me, you're going to have a blast getting your shop on.  So, you know the drill! I'll be sharing my favorites with you guys.  As you guys know, I usually only wear heels, but their flats were too cute not to share so I included them in my roundup.

Now, their shoes are on the pricy side, but you have to remember that you're paying for serious quality. They're crafted with patented nanoGel technology so you get luxe, long-lasting comfort. With their kicks, you'll never have to choose between style and comfort.  Plus, they offer free shipping + returns without minimum purchase so that definitely sweetens the pot!  I personally own several pairs from UKIES so don't hesitate to hit me up if you have questions.  Use code TGIF30 to get an additional 30% off your purchase - valid until Monday!

Spot This: Revolutionizing Online Shopping

As I'm sure y'all know, I've been working with Spot This - a Maryland based start-up - all month to help raise awareness for their fabulous site.  Constantly guided by the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship, they started ST in October 2015.  They're an on demand discovery service for fashion.  Users have to register, but the process takes like 2 minutes tops...if that.  Trust me when I say you want to check them out.  You all know how freakin' busy I am!  I would've never taken them on if I didn't believe in them.

Now, here's how it works.  You upload photos of outfits you like onto Spot This, specify size and price range, and then just wait!  Our fashion stylists do the work for you.  They find you similar matches that fit your budget so you can re-create respective ensembles from the comfort of your own home.  Now, why is this helpful? When you visit bloggers' sites, they usually have shoppable links for you, but a lot of times, their picks may be too expensive.  Now you have a solution! Upload their outfits to find similar items for less.

Or, perhaps you LOVE Olivia Palermo's style and have an entire pinterest board dedicated to her - I may or may not have one HERE, ha - but you have no idea where or how to shop her OOTDs. Well, lucky for y'all, you do now!  Within 24 hours, similar matches will magically show up in your Spot This account.  Do yourself a favor and register ASAP.  Take advantage of their amazing site and elevate your style tenfold!  If you have any questions about their service, shoot me a message!  I manage all of their social media platforms, so make sure y'all give 'em a follow.

The Plunging Gown

I'm stoked to share yet another Dennis Christians shoot with y'all.  We crashed the Juilliard School and borrowed their glass window/red staircase for today's post!  I wore a fancy-smancy dress (from Amiclubwear) and accessorized with a statement choker for the occasion.  Obviously, today's blast is going to be super photo-heavy so I'll leave the commentary to a minimum and let y'all enjoy DC's exquisite work.
A closer look at my necklace from JWholesale.  I'm completely and utterly obsessed with the design because a., it's absolutely gorgeous, and b., it complements my plunging neckline beautifully!  I know I've been raving about JWholesale for months now, but I gotta praise them once again for their quality.  Make sure y'all check 'em out HERE.

The Floral Tunic

I'm super excited to to tell you guys all about my latest find from Last Call.  I picked this gorg tunic up a few weeks ago and copped it for $65 or so.  It was a total steal - the Equipment brand usually goes for way more.  I wanted to style an edgy look with it so I paired it with a sleeveless vest from H&M and accessorized with a snakeskin clutch and lace choker.
This choker is yet another gem from JWholesale.  Chokers have been all the rage as of late, and this piece is a serious must-have.  If you're looking for new baubles, hit them up STAT.  If you're lucky enough to live in the NYC area, you can see their selection in person (882 Avenue of the Americas between 31st & 32nd), but otherwise, get your browse on HERE.
A close-up of my clutch - this adorable bag was included in my Happy Rebel subscription box!  To see what else was in my box, click here.

Trend Alert: How-to Wear the Choker

I've been super into chokers as of late so I am thrilled (to say the least) that the trend's coming back with a vengeance.  A-list stars like Rihanna and Gigi Hadid have been seen decorating their necks with the quintessential '90s accessory.  Whether you're into chic, understated designs or bling-y, over-the-top pieces, you need to get your experiment on STAT.  Here's how I've been wearing them on Sensible Stylista:
1.  "I'm too cool for school...but you can still sit with me anyway."  This lace piece is a do in every way.  It adds just the right amount of edge to any and every ensemble.  Ooze polish and sophistication with this effortlessly stylish necklace.

2.  "I really only wore this dress to show off my necklace."  Talk about bling - this necklace slays! Accessorize a plunging neckline with a statement piece like this to break necks left and right. Channel your inner Queen Bey and strut around like the sex kitten you are.

3.  "Nothing says chic like simple gold neck candy."  This piece is the epitome of classy.  Elevate your style tenfold by wearing this gorgeous necklace.  It pairs well with simple button-fronts and summery frocks alike.

So, which one of these babies is your favorite, and how do you feel about chokers - hot or not?  Oh, and before I leave you, I want to tell y'all that all three of these necklaces are from JWholesale.

The Gold Choker

I'm super excited to share my first NYC collab with you guys.  As y'all know, I met up with the brilliant Dennis Christians to shoot around the Big Apple a while back!  If you missed my post about NYC, no worries, just click here.  Anywho,  I can't remember exactly where this was - I think it was 73rd and Broadway-ish, but it had a slew of cute stoops so we went around snapping pics without a care in the world.

Note:  these Badgley Mischka heels may look cute, but they definitely were not made for walking. Thank god I got them on sale - I would've been pissed if I purchased them for full price. Le sigh. Who knows, maybe they'll increase in comfort over time!  Look at me being all optimistic and whatnot.
Let's take a closer look at my necklace.  This stunning choker is available HERE at JWholesale!  In order to shop here, you need to spend at least $50, but you're getting serious bang for your buck because everything's super discounted.  I mean, their name says it all - you get high-quality baubles for wholesale prices!  They get new inventory every week, and their collection is ginormous so definitely make sure to get your browse on! You're welcome in advance.
For those of you wondering, my LWD (little white dress) is from Gentle Fawn.  Unfortunately, this piece is currently sold out, but here are other cute designs for your browsing pleasure:

Unboxing Covergirl's Queen Voxbox

When Influenster reached out and offered to send me their latest parcel, I was thrilled because, as you all know, I love unboxing mystery packages!  I've been a part of their network for quite some time now, and through them, I've had the opportunity to test out a variety of products.  For today's post, I'll be reviewing three new products from Covergirl's Queen Collection.
1.  Covergirl Natural Hue Liquid Makeup ($8.79) -  I hate to bash Covergirl, but I'm definitely not a fan.  I personally didn't have a very good experience!  The makeup didn't absorb well at all, and it went on super unevenly.  Heads up guys, you're getting very little coverage with this - it's basically a tinted moisturizer - so if you want full coverage, get a different foundation.  I tried Amber Glow, but it was way too red for me.  Hopefully y'all will have better luck!  I give this product 1.5/5.

2.  Covergirl Stay Luscious Lipstick ($8.99) - I feel very "eh" about this lipstick.  I had a chance to try Duchess, and although the lippie went on ok, the color just didn't work for me.  Props for its longevity though - it glided on smoothly and stayed put for most of the day.  I give this baby 2.5/5 because of the price!  I definitely think there are better and more affordable products out there for $9, but I'll have to check out the rest to know for sure.  I may totally be biased because of the shade!

3.  False Lash Drama Mascara ($7.49) - I'm kind of starting to feel bad at this point!  I really want to like this mascara...but I don't.  I had a hard time working the applicator, and at a certain point, my lashes started to clump.  Then, on top of it all, I couldn't get the right amount of curl.  I give this a 2/5, and that's me being generous!  It's available for $7 or so on the Covergirl website, but I'd rather save the cash and splurge on a solid mascara that works super well.  That's just me though! Let me know if you want a recommendation!

That's all folks! I'm sorry I was a negative nancy for today's post, but hey, I gotta keep it real.  I'm not going to tell you that something's awesome just because I had a chance to review it for free. However, I do want to thank Influencer for giving me the opportunity to try these items out...even if I didn't like them, ha!

May Beauty Review

1.  It Cosmetics Sunshine in a Compact ($34) - Another home run from ITC.  Developed with leading plastic surgeons, this talc-free matte bronzer adds radiance without glitter or shimmer.  This product is, hands down, my new favorite.  Stila's Sun Bronzing Powder used to be my go-to, but I've officially converted.  Apply it with an angled contour brush for best results!  You'll get a beautiful but subtle glow.

2.  Studio Gear True Whipped Gloss Stain ($17 each) - Thanks to Brandbacker, I got to sample all 5 of these lovely lippies.  Each one is formulated to be perfectly balanced and suited for all skin tones to keep lips soft and moisturized.  Although I really liked the colors - true burgundy and true red were my favorites - I wasn't a huge fan of the applicator. I found it quite difficult to color in my lips, and since the shade's fairly matte, it's not easy to correct!  However, you do get stay-all-day pigment so that's a plus.  In my honest opinion, there are better and more affordable glosses out there, but they're worth a try if you're looking to experiment.

3.  Hask Purifying Shampoo + Conditioner ($5.99) - last month, I reviewed their Strengthening line HERE along with other April faves.  I'm happy to feature them yet again on SS because their Purifying Charcoal line is on point.  Charcoal, derived from coconut shells, combined with lemon and grapefruit oils, thoroughly cleanses and clarifies while helping to eliminate impurities from one's hair and scalp.  I like to use this 1-2 times a week to keep my hair extra clean - it's gentle enough for daily use though.  If you have oily hair, this set is a serious must-try.  Oh, and on top of it all, they smell like heaven so what are you waiting for?  Try this duo out STAT!  Products were provided for review through Brandbacker.

4.  Maybelline Browdrama Pomade Crayon ($9.99) - Obsessed with this crayon for reals - available in four different shades here.  Get killer brows in literally one sweep - it sculpts and tames as it colors, and shades are totally blendable.  I can't live without soft brown!  I use it with my L'oreal brow stylist prep & shape pro kit for best results.

5.  Maybelline FaceStudio Master Concealer ($8.99) - You're getting serious bang for your buck with this product!  It works extremely well, and as you can see, it's quite affordable.  I use "light," but it's available in 4 other shades here. I apply dabs of it to cover pimples, lighten my undereye area and use it to contour when I'm feeling extra fancy!

6.  Becca Luminous Blush ($34) - Becca's new blush line is everything and more.  Each shade is beyond gorgeous, and it's specially designed to flatter all skin tones.  These multi-dimensional products can be worn alone or layered with matte blushes/bronzers as a blush topper.  Available in 6 gorgeous shades, you can purchase them online at Ulta here - my fave shades are Tigerlily and Blushed Copper!

Wardrobe Essential: Off-the-Shoulder Tops

I'm beyond obsessed with my new off-the-shoulder top courtesy of Marled.  For those of you unfamiliar with the brand, they were founded in 2015 by Reunited Clothing in response to a void in the market for affordable of-the-moment designs.  From cashmere, to embellishments & embroidery, their clothing is crafted using carefully selected materials to ensure the highest quality possible.
For my latest OOTD, I styled a casual look for you guys.  I centered today's ensemble around my new top and paired it with skinny jeans for a simple yet polished look!  I then carried my Givenchy Antigona for a pop of color and threw on heels to match.

Find of the Day: The Navy Trench

I'm super excited to tell you guys all about my latest find!  This lightweight trench from Sincerely Sweet Boutique is everything.  Available here for $49.99, this jacket is ideal for Spring.  The drape front is très chic, and the piece is perfect for layering.  If you're looking for solid warm-weather outerwear, you're welcome in advance.  As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.  I'm here for you guys 24/7!  Oh, and I totally forgot to tell you guys about their brilliant tags. They contain seeds and are 100% bio-degradable so you can plant them directly into soil - super cute, right?

The Striped Vest

I'm all about casual cool today on Sensible Stylista.  I've been obsessed with vests as of late so I was stoked to find this striped gem at the BCBG factory outlet.  For my OOTD, I styled it with a simple white tee and high-waisted jean shorts for a classic look.  To finish off my look, I threw on beige ankle boots and accessorized with a BAMF pendant necklace.

Unboxing: The Happy Rebel Subscription Box

I'm super excited to unbox my Happy Rebel package for you guys today on Sensible Stylista.  I'm a huge fan of subscription services so I was thrilled (to say the least) when Johanna, the owner of HR, reached out and asked me to review her parcel.  I'm pumped to tell you guys all about my new goodies, but I want to share a bit more about HR first. They're a socially responsible company dedicated to helping those in need.  They donate 10% of each season's profits to charities that help women and children around the globe including those who fight sex trafficking, violence against women, and extreme poverty.  Each box includes an explanation of the featured nonprofit - this seasons' is Room to Read.  To learn more about their efforts, click here.
1.  Marlyn Schiff's Necklace ($78) - A must-have for all statement jewelry lovers.  This chunky chain necklace is everything and more!  This piece adds just the right amount of edge to any and every ensemble.  Style it with a sexy LBD for a glam GNO or wear it with a casual getup to elevate your style tenfold.

2.  Eylure Lashes ($8) - These are beyond cute!  I absolutely love the way Eylure blinged these babies out.  You'll get a natural, roughed up effect from these high quality layered-lashes - think chunky and dense.  Also, lash adhesive is included so no need to worry about purchasing glue!

3.  Arbotique Designs' Rings ($12) - If you want to spice up your hand party, throw on these simple mid-finger rings STAT.  You can stack 'em or wear them solo - don't be afraid to experiment with different looks since fit will vary from person to person!  Note:  Jen Nelson, the creator behind Arbotique Designs, is socially responsible so her line is totally eco-friendly.  She uses recycled sterling silver and 14k gold to create pieces that are affordable yet stand the test of time.
4.  Essie Polish ($8) -  This blue-black nail polish is the epitome of cool!  Look effortlessly stylish by painting your nails with the latest on-trend matte finish.  Free of DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde - wear this without topcoat for best results.  For those of you looking for this in-stores, it's called "Spun in Luxe" from the Cashmere Matte collection - available here.

5.  Deux Lux Croc Embossed Vegan Clutch ($58) - Hands down, my fave piece in this box!  This clutch is the perfect size - it carries all of my essentials which is crucial for a fun night out with frands.  This beautiful bag was crafted by mother-daughter duo, Fati Mahdavi & Sara Naghedi.  Their pieces are available in boutiques and stores across the world, and their designs have been featured in press worldwide (from Oprah to Instyle).

That's it folks!  For a flat $100, you're getting a carefully curated box with goodies worth $164+.  What do you guys think of HR?  What's your favorite piece in this box?  Also, I'll be styling the Deux Lux clutch very soon so make sure y'all keep an eye out!

The Ultimate Muscle Tank

I'm very excited to share today's outfit post with you guys - it's another super casual look.  As I'm sure y'all can tell, I've been really into graphic tops as of late.  This fabulous tank (courtesy of Luciana) is perfect for everyday wear!  Pair it with high-waisted shorts and printed boots for an effortlessly stylish warm-weather look.
I'm completely and utterly obsessed with my Covry sunnies.  In my (very humble) opinion, every girl should have a stylish pair of mirrored shades - to read more about them, check out my article, "4 Sunglasses Every Fashionista Should Own."

New York City Shenanigans

A few days ago, I trained up to NYC to give a social media workshop for The Fashion Potential.  I was super excited to do so but I was dead tired for most of my trip because I had to catch a 5:30 train aka I woke up at 4 AM to get ready.  Now, I usually wake up pretty early, but let's be real, 4's straight up painful.  I think I would've been ok if I had a chance to catch up on zzz's, but I had a shoot, a bunch of business meetings, and hangs with friends so that was out of the question.

Luckily, the little rest I got was solid thanks to Yotel.  Located on 42nd and 10th Ave., they're a futuristic hotel with amazing customer service.  Now, when I say futuristic, I mean futuristic. Their hotel's designed like a freakin' spaceship!  Each room is called a "cabin," and "mission control" is yotel talk for reception.  You check in and out by using a self-service kiosk in the Ground Control area, and they even have a baggage storing robot (!!!!) Check in time's at 3 PM so if you get there early, you store your luggage in Yobot for $2 and get your exploration on.
Yotel's check-in kiosk || Yobot
My cabin had an absolutely amazing view - the lights were hypnotizing!  If you want to see it for yourself, click here - I shared it on IG a while back.  Oh, and on that note, if you're not already following me on instagram, you should because I'm all sorts of loveable...I hope!  Anywho, my cabin was so cute.  I took a bunch of pictures for you guys, but unfortunately, the photos didn't come out well because lighting wasn't ideal.  No worries though, I'll describe it in great detail for y'all so you can use your imagination to picture everything.  It had a convertible queen bed with a technowall and flat screen.  The monsoon shower was luxurious.  I felt like I was getting a massage while bathing because of the high water pressure.  The workstation had free wifi that was ridiculously fast so working here was cake!  On top of it all, Yotel offered complimentary coffee and tea 24/7 + free muffins at breakfast time.

Now, enough about digs, let's talk adventures.  The main purpose of my trip was to give a workshop, but being me, I totally over-scheduled myself so I was running around non-stop.  Let me break it all down for y'all and share some highlights (the workshop's a given so I won't go into that):
Dinner at Bea:  After having an especially crappy meal in k-town - Shanghai Mong was a disaster - I was extra pleased with my meal here. Located in the Theater District, Bea was a do on so many levels.  Everything from service to interior was on point!  I ordered house ricotta with rosemary honey and sea salt to start - it was freshly made and served with grilled bread.  Initially, I thought the combo was a bit strange, but it grew on me FAST.  Each and every bite was creamy goodness, and I just couldn't get enough!  For my entree, I got their famous green pasta, and it was ridiculously tasty. If you love pasta (or even if you don't), you'll adore this spinach tagliatelle.  It was tossed in a rich alfredo sauce and came with perfectly cooked marinated shrimp.

Drinks with Lipton PR:  After working with the lovely ladies of Lipton PR for years now, I finally had a chance to meet up with them in person.  They were just as wonderful as I imagined - all of them were gorgeous, kind, and fun to be around!  We went to Le Pain Quotidien and chatted over refreshing glasses of Chardonney.

Connecting with Plum Society: I don't know if you guys remember, but a while back, I partnered up with Stephanie, the beautiful owner of PS, for a blog feature + a giveaway - click here if you need to refresh your memory!  I had wanted to meet her in person for so long - she was amazingly sweet over the phone so I knew that she was a wonderful person right from the getgo.  We met up at the Paris Baguette in Times Square and talked over tea.  Getting to know her was so lovely!  I know this may sound cheesy, but meeting readers, bloggers, sponsors, and the like have been by far the most rewarding parts of my blogging journey.  I mean, I would've never crossed paths with her otherwise, and she's a brilliant person who's kind to the bone.  Both her and her boyfriend (the owner of Snakku) are extremely successful, and I'm beyond excited to see what else they accomplish.
Visiting JWholesale's NY storefront:  Yet another brand I've worked with for years now.  Previously known as Sparkles & Pop, JWholesale is everything.  I was totally blown away by their setup in Manhattan.  Prices are mad low, and they literally carry all things fabulous - from clutches to hair clips to statement necklaces.  My contact, Thomas, was there to show me around, and I was really happy to meet him!  After corresponding via email for so long, it was nice to finally put a face to his name.  Now, for your sake, if you live in NYC, make sure you check them out STAT.  I guarantee you'll find something you love!  It's like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory...for jewelry.  For those of you interested, and you should be interested, their address is 882 Avenue of the Americas between 31st and 32nd street.  You're welcome in advance!
Inhaling Chicken n' Rice at Halal Guys: Oh god, you guys have no idea how much I've missed CNR. I used to get it all the time back when I lived in the city.  I mean, $7 for a huge plate of magical goodness? Uh, I think yes.  I met up with one of my oldest friends, Cory Lee (aka kickass violinist , BAMF recording engineer, all in all visionary), and we sat next to the stand and devoured our food before hitting up Maru at k-town.  We got a huge bottle of yogurt soju, which was ridiculously nomtastic.  I'm not quite sure how much alcohol was in there, but it was tasty so no complaints from my end.
Shooting with Dennis Christians: Where to start? Dennis Christians is a helluva photographer.  I've been following him on IG for months now (perhaps years), and his work never ceases to impress.  I had a blast working with him, even if my feet are most likely permanently damaged, ha - totally not his fault though, we were scouting locations, and I very stupidly forgot to bring comfortable walking shoes. If you live in the big apple and need a photographer, hit him up STAT.

I hope y'all enjoyed today's post!  If you want me to write more about my life, let me know by reaching out!  Your feedback means everything to me.

The Silver Body Chain

Re-featuring my Chaser top for the umpteenth time today on SS!  No shame on my part though - I'm all about remixing pieces.  I am the Sensible Stylista after all - I have to live up to my name! Anywho, for my latest, I styled a casual look for you guys.  I paired my tank with high-waisted shorts, distressed boots, and a fierce bodychain.  To finish off my look, I threw on a sleeveless vest for extra coverage.  I don't typically like baring my backside when wearing these babies because they're on the shorter side.
A closer look at my bodychain! I can't get over how cute it is.  What do you guys think of the design - yah or nah?
