January 2015 - Sensible Stylista

Sponsor Spotlight: Georges Marciano Since 1978

Super excited to tell you guys all about Georges Marciano Since 1978 today on Sensible Stylista.  I'm not sure if you guys know who he is, but you should *grins* he's a fashion icon!  He was the original founder of Guess Jeans AND the inventor of stone washed denim.  Yeah, a serious BAMF for sure.

His new collection is based on 1980's aesthetics with a cutting-edge contemporary vibe and Southern Californian feel.  Marciano focused on creating quality denim pieces - available in nine new washes created for both men and women - and classic fitted shirts and top!  His work oozes serious steeze (style + ease).

Here are some of my favorites pieces from his collection:
 Left / middle / right

What do you guys think of his new collection? I'd love to know what you think!  Let me know by leaving a comment below.

Angel on my Shoulder

Excited to share another work-friendly look with you guys!  Y'all know how much I love wearing blazers.  I picked this baby up years ago in Orlando.  I was so excited when I found it because it was on sale for like 70% off, haha.  Yeah, outlet malls have the BEST deals.  I'm such a huge fan of Theory & Boss - they have the best blazers IMO.
Here's a full body shot for you guys!  My button-front's from Ann Taylor - one of my new favorite stores to get work garb.  Where do you guys shop for your "grown-up" clothes? *grins*
A closer look of my scarf courtesy of Scarves Dot Net.  Available in 6 other colors HERE.  It's a super cozy circle scarf that looks best when wrapped twice.
A closer look at my new necklace courtesy of Centime.  I'm OBSESSED with them.  Seriously.  I can't recommend them enough.  They modeled my nameplate necklace after my signature so it's totally personalized.  It's definitely one of the COOLEST pieces of jewelry I own!  I think they'd also make an incredible gift.  What do you guys think?

Find of the Day: The Tassel Necklace ($49)

Very excited to share today's FOTD with y'all.  This gorgeous tassel necklace (from Sterling Forever) is my current fave statement piece.  That's sayin' a lot because I own A LOT of cool jewelry.  Although pricy, the quality's worth it without a doubt.  FYI: the piece is adjustable due to the lariat slider - you'll have fun messing around with the length.

Let me tell you a lil' bit about Sterling Forever.  They offer free shipping on orders $50+, but standard shipping is only $3.  They have a really sweet lifetime warranty, which allows you to have your jewelry replaced or repaired free of charge if it ever loses stones, changes colors, has a malfunctioning clasp, etc.  Also, they have a 60-day money back guarantee so if you're displeased in any way, you can get a full refund.  Please let me know if you have any questions below by leaving me a comment.

OH, and I almost forgot!  If you scroll down to the bottom of their site, you can subscribe to their mailing list and get a code for an extra 20% off.  They're also having a special promo on all rose gold accessories right now. Use code ROSE25 to get an extra 25% off.

Room for Happiness

I'm really excited to partner up with Handbag Heaven again on Sensible Stylista today.  The Petra satchel's pricy (on sale for $79.85, originally $120), but it's a solid bag especially if you're a fan of exotic skins.  Don't fret, animal lovers - this is faux-snakekin.  It looks real though - definitely impressed with the quality!  Here are measurements for you guys:  8"H x 12"L x 5"W with 4" drop handles and a 40" adjustable messenger strap.  Also available in beige, black, and blue HERE.
A closer look at my accessories.  My scarf's from Charlotte Russe BTW.  I own a million different ones from there.  Affordable AND cute - right up my alley!  This version's so chic, and it ties my whole look together.  Hashtag matching color schemes FTW.

Marley Lilly

Totes excited to team up with Marley Lilly today on SS.  If you're a fan of monogrammed pieces, hit them up stat for personalized sweatshirts, scarves, bags, and more!
Everything is fully customizable.  There are 12 colors and 3 different fonts to choose from.  I went with pink/black (as you can see) and the interlocking font.  Three initials look best IMO, but if you don't have a middle name, stick with one initial.  I feel like I made a bad call going with "KK".  I should've just gotten "K" *sniffles*  No worries though!  I know I'll still get good wear out of this top!
Anywho, I was having a chill day with Daisy so I thought I'd share a pic of her, too.  Isn't she super cute?

Sweatshirt:  c/o Marley Lilly
Yoga Pants:  Kohl's

Excited to get all fancy for you guys today on SS.  I've partnered up with +OASAP again - I can't wait to tell y'all about my new dress.
I'm not sure if you guys are familiar with Three Floor, but I believe they popularized this design and others like it.  Please do correct me if I'm wrong!  Anywho, this designer inspired dress is a lovely AND affordable alternative IMO.  The 411 on the fabric: it's a polyester/spandex blend with eyelash lace that hugs your body in a comfortable but flattering way - highlights the small of your waist creating an hourglass figure!
A close up of my dress sans coat!  OH, and I don't have a separate pic of my heels, but clicky HERE to see them up close. They're def. the most comfortable 4-inchers I own, and they're currently on sale for $18.95 at Pin Up darling.  Totes worth the money!  Feel free to ask me any questions below in the comment section.

I'm wearing the beYOUtiful dress ($36.99) above.  Isn't the print adorable?  The piece has three-quarter length sleeves with bands, a tie neckline, and is 100% polyester.  It kind of has a boho vibe.  What do you guys think?  Anywho, clicky here to pick one up for yourself.  Also, if you want to read my Cherish Tunic review, clicky HERE.

Find of the Day: The Brooke Open Shoulder Top ($32)

Stoked to tell you guys about today's find!  This fab open shoulder top (available HERE) from Pretty & Chic Boutique is a serious must-have.  The crochet lace detailing is super pretty, and the cutouts are on point!  I don't normally like baring my shoulders - I'm self conscious about my arms, don't judge me - but this top is too cute to pass up.  Oh, and FYI: $32 for the sweater + FREE SHIPPING.
I also really like the material.  It  feels really nice against my skin - it's 55% rayon and 45% polyester.   The top's available in three sizes online: small, medium, and large.  I've included some additional shots below for your convenience!
A closer look at the crochet detailing...
 An obligatory back shot...
I love that you can dress this top up AND down.  It also transitions well season to season.  What do you guys think?  Yea or nay?  Would you purchase this piece?  On another note, how do you feel about this series?

Forever Today

Feelin' all sorts of grown up on today's post.  Love, love, LOVE my new +Ann Taylor blouse!  I got it on sale for $25 last week *pumps fist* Yay for digging through clearance racks.  I also picked up a pair of lacy black slacks for $30.  I was super excited because I have THE toughest time finding flattering "work" pants.  ANYWHO, I thought I'd feature a work-friendly look today on Sensible Stylista.
I styled the blouse with gray Vince skinnies (bargain buy way back in the day at +T.J.Maxx) and a Theory blazer (scored years ago in Orlando at Off Saks during a blowout sale).  I tied the whole look together with a +Coach scarf (gifted).   I know I'm wearing a lot of designer stuff today, but trust me when I say I copped them all when they were MAD discounted.  Stores like TJ Maxx Runway, Off Saks, Nordstrom's Rack, etc., carry designer brands for MUCH less.  Also keep in mind that certain pieces (like blazers and bags) are totally worth the investment.  Think of cost per wear *grins*
Let's take a closer look at my ECCO shoes.  I almost always wear heels, but these were just too cute to pass up.  Such high quality!
Oh, and Daisy wanted to take a pic with me, haha.  Yay for cute animal shots~

Scarf:  Coach
Blazer:  Theory via Off Saks
Blouse:  Ann Taylor
Shoes:  c/o Ecco
Bag:  c/o Paul's Boutique

PS.  I'm currently hosting a bunch of giveaways on SS!  Clicky HERE to win a necklace of your choice from Lemon Drop Boutique, three sunnies of your choice from Freyrs Sunglasses, or a swimsuit of your choice from +BLUMOSS Swimwear, NYC.

Staying Healthy with Latreal Mitchell

I don't know you guys have hear of Latreal Mitchell, but she's kind of a big deal - she's Michael Strahan's personal trainer.  She's also working with Meta.  Anwyho, for today's post, I'll be sharing some of her health tips/tricks to revamp your diet since it's the new year and all.  Let's start with a few food swaps she recommends:

1.  Meta Health Bars instead of cookies or candy bars
2.  Almonds and light popcorn instead of chips
3.  Green apples or pears instead of fruit snacks or candy
4.  Whole-wheat crackers with peanut butter instead of peanut butter cups
5.  Steel cut oats instead of sugary cereal
6.  Dark chocolate instead of milk, white, etc.
7.  Water instead of soda - keep a big bottle at your desk!  Add Metamucil powder to stay hydrated and get multi-health benefits from the extra fiber boost.

Also, La was generous enough to share one of her SUPER short 10-minute workouts!  I know we're all busy and whatnot, but who doesn't have 10 minutes to spare, especially when it'll enrich the quality of your life!

What are some of your fave fitness tips?  How do you guys stay healthy and active?

Instanatural Product Review

Yay!  It's time for a beauty review! Sorry it's been a while guys.  Things have been totally cray.  As you all know, I haven't even been able to keep up with my daily OOTDs. Anywho, I'll be reviewing a bunch of fab skincare/haircare products courtesy of Instanatural today on Sensible Stylista.  If you guys have any questions, make sure to drop me a line below!
1.  Argan Oil Hair Masque ($17.95) - So much winning going on with this amazing product.  It's a deep conditioning treatment with restorative ingredients (argan oil, japanese green tea, amino acid complex, coconut oil, shea butter, etc.) that deliver nourishment and hydration to help with texture and shine.  This fab ORGANIC product can be used daily, but I only use it once or twice a week.  I've tried a lot of different hair masks in my time, and this mask's seriously legit - MAD props.  It really gets the job done, and the consistency is nice and thick so it feels great to apply.
2.  Vitamin C Moisturizer ($19.97) - A solid moisturizer for sure.  Contains a 20% dose of Vitamin C along with other nourishing ingredients that help with wrinkles, age spots, discoloration, and dryness.  Not the best moisturizer I've used, but it's good nonetheless.  I do find the product a bit pricy for what it is, but that may also be because my skin's on the dryer side.  With the 15% coupon, this is worth a shot.  Let me know what you guys think after trying it out!
3.  Vitamin C Serum ($16.97) - Love, love, LOVE this serum.  It's quite a good deal IMO.  It absorbs quickly and smells like heaven.  I like using it after toning & before moisturizing.  Leaves skin firm and hydrated.

Have you guys tried any Instanatural products?  If so, I'd love to hear about your experience.  Oh, and also make sure to sign up for a 15% off coupon by clicking hERE.
