April 2015 - Sensible Stylista

The Linen Pencil Skirt

I apologize in advance for today's post - it's short (but hopefully sweet) because my photos kind of came out "meh".  I'll do a better job next time, I promise.  Anywho, let's get down to bidness! Imma start by telling you guys all about my new necklace courtesy of Mad Jewels.  My chelsea horn necklace is available HERE for $58.  It's 30" long, and the horn's 2'.  It's pricey, but the quality's on point!

Let me tell you a bit about the designer behind MJ.  Madison Patrylick started creating baubles at the young age of 8 - she inherited her love for jewelry from her mother.  She's self-taught (crazy impressive, right?) BTW.   Shop Mad Jewels' fab collection today - they offer affordable baubles made of high quality materials such as natural and semi-precious stones.  On top of it all, MJ donates a portion of proceeds to non-rofit organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Operation Kindness, and The Trevor Project.
A closer look at today's work-friendly OOTD! What do you guys think of my new blouse courtesy of ZNU? I think it's super cute - the lace embroidery is very pretty IMO!

A Modern Take on the Classic Two-Piece

Alright guys, I'm super excited to show y'all my take on the classic two-piece.  I only have one photo for today though.  The lighting was "eh" - this was the only good pic I could salvage. Apologies! For the record, I was wearing ivory pumps,

Anywho, I'm sportin' H&M from head to toe.  I bought everything together, but I had no intention of styling it all as one ensemble. It just kind of worked out.  For my LOTD, I stuck with a simple color scheme: navy + ivory.  The shirt really ties the whole look together.  I kept things simple on the accessory front just because.  I jacked my mom's LV because it matched my outfit SO well.

What do you guys think of matching skirts & blazers - antiquated or timeless?
Blazer: H&M ($34.95 - also available in other colors)
Skirt: H&M ($29.95 - available here in yellow)
Top: H&M
Bag: Louis Vuitton - borrowed

Style Check-In

I'm very excited to tell you guys all about Style Check-in today on SS!  Their service is SUPER fun - let me break it down for y'all:

1.  Reserve your seat - sign up online - limited sizing ATM (2-8).
2.  Disclose passenger details - build a profile!  Submit your info, ie. height, likes, style preferences, etc. so they can send you fab pieces you'll love.
3.  In-flight - you get to chillax while fashion attendants prepare your "carry-on luggage" aka style selections.
4.  Luggage Claim - your box arrives - enjoy your first class swag.

Such a cute concept, right? I love the way they went about it all.  My box had four fab pieces (all for $79, including shipping): a pink tunic, a chic two-piece (wearing below), and a stunning bow skirt!  I wasn't crazy about the tunic TBH, but I loved everything else they sent me!

I find two-piece ensembles super chic, and I'm actually really diggin' the boxy silhouette.  What do you guys think of the design - yah or nah?
Obligatory wannabe model shot!  I wore this sophisticated number out for a family dinner at a golf resort.  My parents and I like to visit different courses for funsies.  I've been trying to take up the sport - my dad absolutely LOVES it - but I find it boring, haha.  Maybe I'll like it more in the future...when I'm actually good at it!  Do any of you guys play?
A closer look at my new earrings courtesy of Dainty & Bold.  These elegant earrings are crafted with high quality cubic zirconias and faux pearls.  Available here for $30.90; they look WAY more expensive than they actually are.  A girl can never go wrong with pearls - timeless and always classy!

Earrings:  c/o Dainty & Bold ($30.90)

The Lace Pencil Dress: A Review

YAY - it's time for a Stylemoi review!  I'll be reviewing SM's gorg lace pencil dress today on SS.  I saw this piece online and copped it immediately - I fell in love with the color and design!  I initially intended to wear it to work, but it ended up being WAY too short for the office.  It's a fab dress for sure, but it's def. something you'd wear out to a club.  I recommend this piece for petites or those who like wearing mini(and I mean mini)-dresses.  Available here for $32.99.
I accessorized with my GORGEOUS new crystal necklace courtesy of Dainty & Bold.  This beautiful piece is made of cubic zirconia stones and crystals, which are encrusted upon rose-gold plated metal. Wear it with a graphic tee & jeans or dress it up as I did below.  This handmade item is available HERE for $38.92.
Necklace:  c/o Dainty & Bold ($38.92)
Dress:  c/o Stylemoi ($32.99)
Clutch:  c/o Darling

My Take on Menswear

It's time for another office-friendly look on SS today - YAYZORS for Workwear Wednesday.  I wore my fave dress pants (my Betabrand yoga bottoms - feel like PJs but look like slacks) and styled them with a bold striped top from Banana Republic.  It was on sale for like $20 or so.  I thought it'd be great for work so I picked it up! I'm always looking for quality blouses.

I skipped jewelry and all that jazz to keep things simple because my stripes were surprisingly bold - I didn't want to overpower with statement jewelry.  I threw on a vest on top and carried my mom's Dior bag to complete my look!
A full body shot for you guys...
Pants:  c/o Betabrand
Vest:  H&M
Top:  Banana Republic (bought for $19 on sale)
Bag:  Christian Dior - borrowed

Diamond Lighthouse: Selling Diamonds

Alright guys, for today's post I'll be tellin' you all about Diamond Lighthouse on SS.  For those of you looking to sell, this is a must-read.

The DL platform bridges the gap between people looking to sell & pro diamond dealers and jewelers.  DL's expertise in evaluating + understanding market trends is critical for fair business because every diamond is unique.
They're a trusted member of the Better Business Bureau so the diamonds they broker are secure and safe.  They have a flat commission (10% on diamonds over 1 carat) so you know they'll try and get the most money possible for you.  Their sole purpose is to SELL so you know they aren't offering you the lowest price to make a margin.  Instead, they aim to get you the highest bids possible.

Unlike other methods (selling to a jeweler, pawning the piece, etc.), DL provides user access to professional buyers and dealers.  When you send your jewelry to DL, you're connected to a wide network of trusted pros who offer competetive bids. During the process, you have complete (and anonymous) control over your sale!  You can choose when and if you'd like to sell through your personal portal.

Selling's super easy.  All you have to do is register online or call 212-776-0003.  Gemologists will do a complete evaluation on video and reach out to a network of buyers.  Offers will pour in, you'll agree to a sale, and DL will send you your money.  Super simple, right?  FYI: they'll insure your jewelry.

You can also buy on Diamond Lighthouse.  Their GIA trained gemologists will report cut, carat weight, color, clarity, and fluorescence.  They'll also share clear images of the product.  They'll post the item on their online marketplace and provide detailed descriptions.  If you decide to purchase, you'll receive a GIA certificate (if one was provided) or any other relevant documents regarding authenticity.  If you live in NY, you can always schedule an appointment and review the item in person.

You then place bids.  DL will inform you promptly when you've been outbid.  You can make new bids until the bidding period is over, and DL'll quickly let you know if you've won.  Once you're approved by the seller, you'll pay for the item by check or bank wire, and the item will be sent to you in 2 business days (shipped via FedEx overnight, fully insured) once payment's confirmed.

This post was sponsored by Diamondlighthouse.com, but all opinions are my own.

Find of the Day: Bevast Crystal Necklace

Alright guys, today's find WAS gifted from a sponsor (Sparkles & Pop), but I SWEAR to you that this necklace is going to be the BEST $40 you spend.  Bold statement, I know, but I TRULY mean it.  I've been wearing it CONSTANTLY because it looks awesome dressed up AND down.  In fact, I've already featured it on here several times.  There's a reason for that, you know!
FYI: 15" long with a 3" extension

It's currently selling for $48, but I have a special code so you guys can get an extra discount - use code SENSIBLE to get 20% off your purchase (valid until 5/31).  Available HERE!  Now, to clarify, I'm not making ANY money off your purchase - there's no secret commission deal going on.  I just genuinely LOVE this piece and believe you will, too.

The Nautical Stripe Top

I'm totally obsessed with my new nautical top from Talbots.  I picked it up for $26.24 during their Spring sale (originally $49.50).  Get it for the same price here! It's available in two colors and is a three-quarter tee with a bateau neckline and side-slit high-low hem - perfect for work and play!  I chose to style a casual look today, but I'm sure I'll re-feature it in a work-friendly post sooner or later.
My top sans jacket.  Isn't it adorable? I usually don't like wearing stripes, but this top is super chic and flattering.  I accessorized with my fave necklace from Sparkles & Pop to give the ensemble a trendy vibe! Love, love, LOVE their statement jewelry.  I just can't get enough of their baubles.  Clicky here to browse their online collection.  Make sure you guys use code SENSIBLE to get an extra 20% off purchase - valid until May 31st.

The Kala Kollection

Partnering up with The Kala Kollection today on SS for a fancy OOTN to welcome the weekend.  Remember guys, I feature sexy looks (mostly dresses) on Fri-yays so make sure to check back weekly for inspo.  Today's dress is available HERE at TKK for $82 (originally $98).  Pricy but worth it!  I've never seen a bandage dress quite like this.  The colors are crazy - in an awesome way, of course - and the meshwork's on point.  The piece is super flattering because:

1.  It's a bandage dress.
2. The strategic dark shading (direct your eye to my waist).

Sensible Stylista x Felice Fabric

Partnering up with Felice Fabric today on SS!  I had a ton of fun shooting this dress - available here for $39.  I did another editorial-like post for y'all just because.  It gives me a chance to improve my (non-existent) modeling skills, ha!
A full shot of my dress.  Super cute, for sure!  I like anything with lace though so I'm pretty biased.  What do you guys think of the design - yah or nah?
This dress is perfect for the office.  It's form flattering but still modest due to the length.  The lace detailing is sexy, but in a subtle, classy way!  Grab a neutral tote, throw on beige heels, and you're good to go.  I chose NOT to accessorize today - shocking, I know - because I thought the lace looked good all on its lonesome.

Ellis & Eli Boutique

YAY!  So Workwear Wednesday's officially a thing now.  For today's post, I've featured a LOVELY navy dress (perfect for work + play) courtesy of Ellis and Eli Boutique. Ann Dunaway - the fab owner of E&E - founded the fab company in 2014!  She spent several years working in retail, finance, and sales before pursuing her dream business.  Her passion definitely shows, and her collection is girly and fun!
Let's take a closer look at my new dress!  I dressed it up for work because, well, it's Workwear Wednesday - simple as that! I threw on a light cocoon cardi for warmth - AC can get a little intense, ha - and statement pearls to up the class factor.  How would you guys style this for the office?
My current faves all under $100!  Which one do you like best?

Find of the Day: The V-neck Pocket Tee ($7)

It's time for another fab find on SS!  I'm super excited to tell y'all about today's FOTD because it's a wardrobe staple.  Solid tees as a must-have - simple but chic.  Jeans + tee = timeless combo that oozes steeze.

I got this item at Aeropostale a few weeks ago - FYI, I've collaborated with them before, but this item was purchased with my own money.  Trust me when I say this tee's ridiculously cute & comfy - super soft and lightweight.  Think James Perse minus the expensive price tag.  Currently available for $7 (originally $19.50) HERE in 7 colors.  I copped one in black, but I'm probably gonna order one in white, too.  For your reference, I went with a size medium - I prefer loose fits.  I usually wear xs/s, so I recommend sizing up!

I'm very excited to partner up with Rolla Coster Clothing today on SS.  I'm definitely a huge fan!  I mean, cute clothing for super affordable prices? A closer look at my one-piece courtesy of Blumoss (available here)!  I used to be all about the bikini, but now I'm more into one-pieces, especially ones with cool cutouts & plunging necklines - depends on my mood though!  What do you guys think of one-pieces?  Are they a yah or nah?
Oh how I heart crochet trim.

A full body shot for you guys.  I'm such a huge fan on AMICLUBWEAR.  I used to think their stuffs was just for raves and the like, but I see now that they actually carry a lot of cute & affordable everyday options.  I especially like their dresses, bikinis, and shoes (search for Wild Diva - my fave shoe brand they carry).  Have you guys shopped their collection yet?
