My FAVORITE Hair Irons - Sensible Stylista

My FAVORITE Hair Irons

Alright everyone, I'm SUPER excited to tell you guys all about Lionesse today on Sensible Stylista.  As y'all know, I love rocking straight AND curly hair - depends on my mood *grins*  If I'm feelin' sexy, I grab my straight iron.  If I wanna look glam, I'm all about waves!  I SWEAR by Lionesse, like, I'm not messin' around.  Their hair tools are so ridiculously amazing!  I can't even deal, ha.  I'll be tellin' ya'll about their 2" tourmaline straightener and their 4-piece curling set.
Let's start with the latter.  At a whopping $400, you're dropping a ton of moolah, BUT don't skimp on hair tools.  Buying cheap products will damage your hair - trust me, and go for quality.  Plus, shatty tools will break in a hot minute.  As you can see, this set comes with four different barrels:  18-25mm, 32/32mm, 25/25mm, and 19/19mm, and they heat up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.  The clip-less irons will give you smooth, natural curls!  This baby also comes with a glove so you don't burn yourself while styling your hair.
A closer look at the curling wand...
Moving onto my 2" tourmaline straightening iron.  This tool is effin' MAGIC.  It heats up in 30 seconds and works like a dream.  SERIOUSLY!  I had a Chi before, and dang, it took me a good 20 minutes to do my hair.  Now it takes me, no joke or exaggeration forizzle, 5 minutes TOPS!  This incredible iron hearts up to 480 degrees Fahrenheit!  I actually use max heat, but you can adjust it to your liking.  FYI: tourmaline plates balance hair and reduce static by increasing negative ions - hashtag WIN.
A close up shot of my babies!
Before I say bye-bye, I want to make sure you guys PROTECT your hair by using heat protective creams or sprays!  I like this leave-in cream because it leaves my mane shiny and smooth.  No one likes greasy product in their hair - I sure as hell don't want to look like I haven't showered in days, ha.  As I'm sure you can tell, I've had mad problems with products in the past!  I vouch for this though - clicky here to purchase one yourself.
Conclusion: BUY THESE AMAZING TOOLS.  Yes, I needed all caps for that because that's how serious I am.  I swear to god, these products freakin' changed my life.  I guarantee satisfaction.  That's how freakin' confident I am that you'll love these items.

You're welcome in advance.

  2. Love your tips! And I agree about using "cheap" styling tools. They definitely DO damage your hair! I know from personal experience! My hair is extremely damaged from my flat iron. I don't want to have to cut it. I'd like to repair it, if possible. And I'd definitely like to give these a try!

    1. Thanks so much, Teresa! I'm glad you enjoyed the post! Which flat iron were you using if you don't mind me asking? I totally feel your pain! I tried using cheap tools in the past and suffered major consequences to save some money - I definitely should not have cut corners back then! I learned my lesson though. Please let me know if you have any questions about the products above! I'm more than happy to answer questions <3

  19. I love that the iron comes with multiple sizes! Nothing more annoying than packing up four different curling irons and dealing with the tangled mess of cords. Spending a little extra money on quality products is definitely worth it too, I've had the same AMAZING blow dryer for the last 7 years and aside from the heating element going out (which was fixed under warranty) it hasn't had a single issue.

  22. I don't have a super expensive hair straightener but it is not cheap by any means. I hope CHI is a good brand, it's what I use for shampoo, conditionner, treatment, and spray before I straighten my hair.

    1. I used to have a CHI! It works well, but this one saves me a lot more time because it's more effective! That's from my personal experience though~

  25. I have used cheaper products and with my hair type, I could see the damage done to my hair. I have very thick, curly hair, and there are days when I want it tamed down and straight or just add a little wave or curl. Great review on the products and something I will be adding to my wish list.

  28. Great tutorial, great tips, and great products! Thanks for all the pointers! So thorough, unlike a lot of others i have seen. I have always been VERY impressed with Lionesse products, and I'm a hairdresser, so I've seen them all! I will definitely be recommending these Lionesse products to all my clients. If I win, I might even get to try them out on them! I would of course have to do a little quality assurance though and try it on myself first. I wouldn't want anyone to be disappointed! The only thing disappointing about these products are the price, but I have learned in this business especially, you get what you pay for, quality does NOT come cheap!

  36. I want any product that has tourmaline. It is a lot better for your hair. I don't use any serums or conditioner for that matter. My hair is short and thinning so this would help me style it without putting any gels in my hair. Thanks for the review.

  40. I'm recovering from a brutal haircut, and I just feel nasty when it comes time to do my hair (it's all in my head, I know!) but still, tools that make the job easier are awesome, and I really appreciate the content in this post! I guess I know what brand I'm looking at when it comes time for a new straightener.

  41. I would LOVE to try this set out. I have been looking for a good hair curler to buy, but couldn't decide on what size to get. This one sounds perfect, with the interchangeable barrels! I also just read an article about how you shouldn't cheap out when buying hair products and tools, and I bet this one is great quality.

  48. Great review Kimberly! You made me want these in my life asap -_-
Especially the staightening iron. Mine has no temperature control so hair damage is unfortunately quiet inavoidable :s
You also reminded me that I needto buy myself a heat protection serum or spray, whiwh I've been delaying for no reason.
Keep up the great reviews! :)

  49. When you consider how much you spend on hair care in a year's time, the price for this isn't too bad. It should last more than a year and I'm sure we all spend more than $400 a year on hair care products.

So seeing this was an eye opener and has showed me that just maybe there's something out there that actually does what it says it does! I need this in my life!!

  115. Really good tips and your hair is really fabulous. I normally use heatless methods to curl hair but they don't work 100% of the time and this tool looks wonderful. I have natural hair but since I use a lot of relaxers/perms it's not as curly anymore yet I find it more manageable to manipulate now.
