Getting Holiday Ready: Outfit + Giveaway

Alright guys, I'm super excited to partner up with Single Edition Media today on SS to celebrate Katy Perry's new Mad Love fragrance.  For today's post, I styled a fabulous look inspired by the perfume in honor of the holidays!
Love, love, LOVE the perfume's packaging.  The glass design takes its cues from a classical round potion bottle that has been dipped in Cupid's favorite color, and his arrow is displayed prominently on the sleek neck of the bottle.  The front of features an embossed heart-shaped seal's inspired by the vintage wax seals from love letters, and the marbleized cap is the finishing touch.

Isn't the pale pink color super pretty?  I decided to go with its color scheme for today's OOTD for funsies!  I centered everything around my new skirt from ASOS.  I'm beyond obsessed with its design!  If you're into high-waisted skirts, this piece is an absolute must-have.  The ruffles are ridonkulously cute, and the best part is that *drum roll, please* it's currently on sale for $22 (originally $73).
I styled it with a crop turtleneck and accessorized with my current favorite statement necklace from J Wholesale to elevate my style game.  Then, I threw on sky-high heels and carried my Ferragamo crossbody bag.  To finish things off, I sprayed a bit of KP's Mad Love on top!  I'm not usually a huge fan of celebrity perfumes, but this baby's a game changer.  The smell's sweet and fruity - if you feel like channeling your inner girly girl, give this a try. TIP: Spritz it onto your clothing for longer lasting power.
Now, let me give you guys some background regarding the fragrance.  The House of Katy Perry has 3 Pillars:  Purr, Killer Queen, and Mad Potion - Mad Love is an extension of the Mad Potion franchise. The scent features the succulence of lady apple sorbet and mara strawberry blended to perfection with the freshness of delicious pink grapefruit.  Middle notes of peony petals, smooth sun-kissed jasmine, and the hypnotic pull of the bleeding heart flower to stimulate and captivate the senses.  Indulgent warmth builds in the background with the allure of coconut wood, skin musk, and ever so sensual sandalwood.
A closer look at deets!  Have you guys scored any awesome bargain buys as of late?  If yes, make sure you fill me in by leaving a comment below.  I actually haven't gotten anything other than this skirt recently!  I've been trying to be good about saving $$$ especially since the holidays are coming up hella soon.

Editorial: In Search of an Emerald Sky

Feeling straight up regal today on SS!  I centered my latest post around my new formal dress courtesy of Amiclubwear.  I've always been a huge fan of velvet so it was pretty much love at first sight.  On top of it all, it's apparently making a comeback this fall.  I'm sure you all have already seen the standard velvet-dress-over-a-white-tee combo.  What do you guys think of the trend - yah or nah? Would YOU give it a shot?

How-to Rock Date Night Like a Boss: 3 Easy Ways to Slay

Alright guys, we're tackling date night garb today on SS - I've been getting several emails regarding the topic so I figured it'd be a good subject to blog about. Before we get into everything, I want to emphasize that these are NOT first date outfit ideas (that's an entirely different subject all together, and I'll be addressing that another day).  We're gonna talk about ways you can spice up your outfit game!  Sooo, let's get to it!
1.  Make a statement with kickass accessories.  Don't be afraid to go all out! It is night time after all. I treated my LBD as a neutral canvas and dressed it up with edgy pieces for fun (to see more photos, click here).  If you're afraid you're gonna overdo it, just keep a few things in mind.  Sidebar:  I'm all about wearing whatever the hell you want so if YOU love your look, don't second sh*t.  I'm simply sharing tips with those of you who want some extra help.  Now that we got that out of the way, let's get to it!

a.  If you're wearing a bunch of vibrant colors together at once, don't mix metals.
b.  Bold jewelry + simple outfits = optimal combination
c.  Wear ONE statement piece at a time.
d.  Take your bag + shoes into consideration when thinking about your accessory game.
2.  Grow an inch...or 5 with sky high heels.  Confession: I totally have a thing with height - I've always wanted to be super tall, but that didn't quite work out for me, ha.  Luckily, I can "grow" as much as I want with fashion!  Yay for visual illusions.  Here's how I pull off my trickery.

First, pick out a killer maxi dress that's sexy as hell but drags like nobody's business.  Then, pair it with 5" ankle-strap heels for max comfort + security.  The straps are hella important because they'll keep your shoes ON your feet.  You won't have to worry about them slipping off and (inevitably) making a fool out of yourself by falling flat on your face.  Lastly, make sure your dress still grazes the ground a slight bit so no one sees how high your heels actually are!  To see more snaps from this look, click here.

3.  Rock BAMF cut-outs.  I don't know what it is, but there's just something mad sexy about showing unexpected bits of skin.  Pass on the "traditional" plunge neckline + backless cut and experiment with something different to mix things up!  Try wearing pieces with cutout waists, arms, and necklines.  To see more from this look, click here.

My Favorite LBD

Soooo, a few months ago, I told you guys about my dream LBD find here at Last Call Neiman Marcus.  Lucky for you guys, it's still in stock and available here for $50(!!!) I really can't recommend it enough.  It literally looks good on everyone!  It must've been designed by Dumbledore or something because the draping's straight up magical.  Do yourself a serious favor and cop it while you can.  You're seriously getting it for nothing - $62 is nothing in the long run, especially if you consider cost per wear.
Anywho, I accessorized with an old silver clutch from Coach, handmade statement earrings, and fabulous bangles for a classy night out with frands. These gorgeous bracelets are part of Trollbeads' new "Falling in Love" collection - currently available for up to 35% off.  Sidebar: I'm currently hosting a giveaway for 'em.  Two lucky winners will score jewelry of their choice from their new line - to enter, click here.
