My Everyday Make-up Essentials

Alright everyone, today's post is all about beauty. I've gotten a lot of emails from you guys asking about my favorite products so I thought it'd be good to share my everyday makeup essentials with y'all.  I've used many of these for years now, and I swear by them!  Sooo, without further ado, let's get to it:
My brow game is strong:

1.  L'oreal Brow Stylist Prep & Shape Pro Kit in Light to Medium ($14.99):  This product is an absolute must-have in my book.  Groomed brows ooze polish so I always make sure to take care of 'em.  With this kit, it takes less than 2 minutes.  I brush them quickly before shaping them with wax, then fill them in with eyebrow powder.
2.  Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder in Taupe ($25):  After using my L'oreal kit to give my brows a solid base, I fill in sparse areas with this procut.  The applicator's hella easy to control so shaping's a breeze.

Eyes are the windows to the soul:

1.  Estee Lauder Artist's Eye Pencil in Softsmudge Black ($24):  I've been using this liner for years!  I like to line the bottom of my eyes with it first before tackling my lids.   I always go bold on top, but I STILL don't feel comfortable just going for it with liquid liner so I sketch out my lines in advance to make sure everything's straight and even.  That way, I can "correct" whatever goes wrong easily.
2.  e.l.f. Intense Ink Eyeliner ($3.90):  Hands down my favorite liquid liner - it works super well, and it's hella affordable.  The applicator's really easy to use so it takes less than 3 minutes to execute.  If you're a fan of cat eye or dramatic eyeliner, you'll want to pick this up STAT.
3.  Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara ($23):  Get serious volume without clumping!  Slowly coat each and every lash and experiment with layering if you're looking to up your eye game.
4.  Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler ($25):  The best lash curler you'll ever use!  Many use it pre-mascara, but I like to curl them after application - just make sure your lashes are completely dry before getting your curl on.  Simply place it as close to your eyelid as possible (without pinching your skin) and gently press.  Hold for 5-10 seconds and work outwards for perfect peepers.
Getting flawless skin:

1.  Nars Blush in Orgasm ($30):  I own SO many blushes, but this baby's my go-to - it's an oldie but a goodie for sure. The peachy pink shade has just the right amount of shimmer, and I love its natural finish.
2.  Anastasia Contour Kit ($40):  This kit's pricy, but it's worth every penny IMHO.  Sculpt your features with ease with these 6 beautiful + blendable shades.  There are two kits available:  light to medium & medium to tan.  I own the former, and the colors complement my asian skin tone perfectly.  Havana's my favorite bronzer, but if I'm in the mood for something more subtle, I go with Fawn.  Banana's the perfect highlighter, and Vanilla + Sand help mask zits and/or red marks.
3.  e.l.f. Brushes:  Obsessed with these brushes!  I own several of 'em, but my favorites include:  the small tapered brush (for foundation + highlighter), the stipple brush (for bronzer), and the powder brush (for blush).
4.  NYX Concealer ($4.99): This has been a staple in my beauty routine for years now.  It's honestly one of the best concealers I've ever used!  I don't like wearing a full face of makeup on the daily so I mask my imperfections with a swipe of this.  It's easy to blend, lasts all day long, and is super affordable so it's a must-have in my book.

Totally kissable lips:

1.  Vaseline ($4.49):  As much as I love fancy moisturizing lippies, nothing hydrates my pucker more than a tub of vaseline.  I always make sure to slather some on before bedtime!
2a.  Mac Lip Pencil in Spice ($17.50):  Alright, so these next three go hand-in-hand because their colors work SO well together.  As I'm sure many of you know, I'm all about nude lips.  I like experimenting with different shades for special occasions, but this is def. my go-to everyday color.  I start by lining my cupid's bow.  Do NOT try to execute this in one stroke - I've found that small dashes work best.  I then carefully overdraw my lower lip to create the illusion of a fuller pout.
2b.  Kate Moss for Rimmel London Lipstick No. 47 ($4.97):  After errthang, I fill in my lined lips with this lipstick!  I seriously can't get enough of this lipstick.  The lasting power's impressive, and it keeps my mouth hydrated throughout the day.
2c.  Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Chihuahua ($21):  If I want to step things up a notch and add intensity, I layer a bit of this matte gloss on top!
3.  NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses ($4.99):  I own a bunch of these glosses, and they're literally the BEST because they're hella affordable and look super pretty.  Sweetheart and Pink Frost are my favorite colors!  If you're looking to experiment with new lippies, I highly suggest checking these babies out at your local Ulta.  You're welcome in advance.

What are some of your everyday makeup essentials?  Do you guys use any of these items? If yes, which ones? Leave me a comment below! I'd love to hear from y'all.

My Latest e.l.f. Beauty Haul: The Skincare Edition

1.  Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths (20 for $3):  I'm straight up obsessed with these cloths! I'm not into wearing foundation everyday so they're not a part of my daily routine, but when I have a performance or photoshoot, I always make sure to wipe my face down with these babies pre-shower to remove everything thoroughly.  Rating: 5/5.

2.  Exfoliating Scrub ($5):  Personally, I prefer St. Ives' apricot scrub, but this works pretty well, too. If you want something on the gentler side, I recommend trying this face wash out.  You can technically use this product daily, but 2-3 times a week is ideal in my opinion.  Tip:  Remove your makeup and cleanse your face first!  Rating: 4/5.

3.  Hydrating Bubble Mask ($14): I read quite a few negative reviews about this product online so I was afraid to try it at first, but I actually really liked it.  It was effective, easy to use, and super lightweight!  Tip: a little goes a long way so don't go too crazy.  Apply a thin layer onto your face and watch it all bubble up (for 5-10 minutes or so) before washing it off.  Your skin will feel really clean and soft afterwards.  Rating:  4/5.

4.  Eye Refresh ($3):  For $3, I'm totally on board.  I don't know if there are any long term improvements yet, but this item feels hella good on my eye area - cooling sensations FTW.  I love using it first thing in the morning.  It helps with puffiness for sure!  Tip:  keep it in the fridge to up the cooling factor.  Rating:  4/5.

Conclusion:  Yes, to answer my question above, e.l.f. does get the job done.  I don't usually like to drop huge amounts of moolah on make-up, but I'm all about splurging on skincare.  I have no problem dropping $50+ on a solid night cream. So, suffice it to say, I was skeptical when I first received my e.l.f. goodies in the mail. I gotta give them serious props though because the aforementioned products are pretty legit.  If you guys are looking to try a new affordable skincare line give 'em a go.  I, for one, am excited to try their night creams out next!

October: The Best of Beauty

1.  e.l.f. Intense Ink Eyeliner ($3):  Looking for a solid liquid liner? Save serious moolah and purchase this baby STAT.  I've always been a huge fan of elf, but this is next level sh*t.  I will be repurchasing this for years to come.  Why spend $20+ on "designer" liner when you can get amazing product for a fraction of the price?

2.  Marrakesh Hair Styling Elixer ($12.45):  Beyond obsessed with this product.  I use 2-3 pumps daily to keep my ends hydrated.  A little goes a long way though so keep that in mind during application!  This baby will improve your mane's condition & texture tenfold and help prevent frizz. Use this on wet hair for best results!

3.  Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss, No. 47 ($5.79):  Hands down, my new favorite lipstick.  I've been using it every day for the last 3 weeks, and I'm still not sick of the shade.  It's the perfect nude, and it matches my MAC "spice" lip pencil perfectly.  For a Kylie Jenner worthy pucker, purchase this ASAP.

4.  Biobelle Sheet Masks ($26.95 for 6 or $5 for 1):  These sheet masks slay!  For super amazing skin, purchase 'em stat.  Infused with rich serums, these babies deliver antioxidants faster and deeper due to their cutting edge tencel technology.  Wear them for 20-30 minutes after showering 3 times a week for baby soft skin.  You're welcome in advance.

5.  Clinique Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser ($19.50):  This product's THE perfect everyday cleanser, and it just so conveniently happens to work with all skin types.  It does a fabulous job exfoliating impurities so it leaves my skin feeling super smooth.  NOTE: I don't recommend using this when you're trying to remove a full face of make-up.  I like to use it in the mornings because it gives my face the perfect base.

Unboxing Babbleboxx: The NYFW Edition

It's time for another unboxing, folks!  In honor of NYFW, I've partnered up with BabbleBoxx for a fun collab today on Sensible Stylista.  Now, I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely love fashion shows.  I find them intoxicatingly glamorous; the clothes, the gorgeous models, the cameras - everything's just so exciting.

Now, as models hit the catwalk this fall looking like perfection, I'm going to help you rock it in the comfort of your own home.  Sure, it's easy to look fabulous with an army of makeup artists, hair pros and estheticians, but you don't need your own personal glam squad to look like a goddess. BabbleBoxx and I got your back!  Without further ado, let's take a closer look at the products that'll help you own the spotlight this fall.
For flawless skin, experiment with the following Vichy Face Masks:

1.  Mineral Pore Purifying Clay Mask - This baby combines two ultra-fine white clays (Kaolin + Bentonite) with mineralizing thermal water to flush your skin of impurities & excess sebum.  Aloe vera extracts hydrate and sooth, while the aforementioned Vichy water strengthens and protects.  Ideal for those of you looking to detox + shrink your pores - with continual use, they'll be less visible within a month.  Apply and wait for 5 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water!  TIP:  don't leave this on for too long or you'll dry yourself out.

2.  Quenching Mineral Mask - Need a quick pick-me-up? Use this hydrating mask to nourish dehydrated skin. Enriched with mineralizing thermal water + vitamin B3, this product will seriously moisturize your face.  Leave it on for 5 minutes and then wipe away excess afterwards with a cotton pad or tissue - no rinsing required (!!!) Perfect for those of you with sensitive skin.

3.  Double Glow Peel Face Mask -  A serious must-have for radiant skin that glows like nobody's business.  This peel mask is formulated to brighten dull skin through a double-peel action:  the chemical action of AHA (aka fruit acids) removes dead cells, then the mechanical action of volcanic rock crushed into ultra-fine powder gently exfoliates. Leave it on for 5 minutes (avoiding the eye area) and then gently massage with circular movements before rinsing.

DEAL:  Get 20% off + free shipping on any orders containing the aforementioned masks with code BABBLEMASK at checkout.  This offer's valid until 10/31, and it can't be combined with other discounts or gift sets.
For sexy legs you want to touch all night long...

Purchase Tree Hut's Bare Moisturizing Shave Oil for ridiculously smooth skin.  This product contains jojoba + grape seed oils to seal in moisture, and it's formulated to provide enhanced contact between your razor and skin so you don't have to worry about nicks or cuts.  As a bonus, it smells like heaven so there's always that.  Simply slather it on after wetting your legs with warm water to give yourself an at-home spa night.  TIP:  Apply body butter on afterwards to help your shave last longer!
For hairstyles that slay...

Style your mane with Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi Wild Ginger Hydrocream Whip.  It hydrates + smoothes thirsty hair and provides a long-lasting, crunch-free hold with a silky finish.  As an added bonus, it gives your hair quite a bit of volume.  A capful of this baby will give you a softer, smoother, and shinier blowout soooo you're welcome in advance.  Oh, and on top of all that, it smells like ginger ale so that's a plus.
For a killer blowout...

Purchase LumaBella's new hair straightener.  This baby features a cool mist channel that applies a conditioning treatment - their macadamia treatment comes with the product, and it was developed specifically for this straightener - before smoothing with heat!  Together, the mist prep + salon-quality heat controls frizz, protects hair from breakage, and improves moisture and shine.  The tool heats up in 30 seconds, and the ceramic plates are 1".  I like styling my mane on low-moderate heat, but you have the option of choosing from 5 different temperatures (from 300-450 degrees fahrenheit).

 To take pics in style...

Purchase Otterbox's stylish iPhone 6 case.  Embedded with a gazillion Swarovski crystals in the back, this fabulous case will seriously up your style game.  It carries the OtterBox Certified Drop + Protection seal so it's undergone 24 tests over at least 238 testing hours to ensure max protection for your phone.

DEAL:  Use code OTTERBOXBABBLEBOXX at checkout for 20% off plus free domestic shipping - valid until December 31, 2016.

Make Me Over

1.  Aveda Shampure Shampoo ($13.50) - I can't even begin to tell you guys how much I love this shampoo. It's super gentle, and it works with all hair types.  It's infused with 25 pure flower + plant essences so it smells like heaven.  Note: a little goes a long way so don't go too crazy - a dime-sized amount will get the job done.  It lathers nicely and rinses out easily.  Yes, at $13.50 it's pricier than drugstore shampoos, but it's worth the extra cash. Your scalp will feel really clean, and your mane will feel ridiculously soft.  Rating:  5/5 because this item's bomb!

2.  Marc Jacobs Glow Stick ($42) - I find the effect of this luminizer intoxicating.  If you're looking to elevate your look for a special occasion, make sure you try this baby out at your local Sephora.  It gives you a very subtle but sexy glow that seriously wows.  I like to apply it with my finger and blend it with a sponge.  The color's really pretty (think champagne-esque),  and it'll stay on all night.  It contains shimmer, but it's tasteful, not tacky.  I recommend putting it on your cheekbones and décolletage.  It's also super buildable so you can layer all you want! Rating:  4.5/5 - it loses half a point for the price.

3.  Maybelline Lip Color Palette ($13.99) - Obsessed with this palette.  There are eight lippies total, and they're all pretty in their own right.  If you're not a fan of a particular color, no worries - you can mix and match to your heart's desire.  They're soft & super blendable so you can easily create your own custom shade/s.  The included lip brush works really well so application's easy.  I just wish there was a mirror! If you need to reapply, just make sure you have your cell phone handy because your cam conveniently doubles as a makeshift mirror! Rating:  4.3/5 - it gets 5 stars for color + finish, 3.5 stars for lasting power, and 4.5 stars for price.

4.  Supergoop Sunscreen Serum ($42) - If you're looking for a lightweight product that provides serious SPF protection + hydration, make sure to check this baby out.  It goes on a bit "thick," but once you rub it in, your skin eats it up within seconds.  There's no grease or white cast either.  I like to slather this on after washing my face first thing in the morning.  I personally haven't experienced any pilling, but I've heard that others have.  If you're worried, wait 15-20 minutes before applying BB cream/foundation/etc.  Rating:  4.5/5 - like the glow stick featured above, I deducted a half point for the price.

5.  Maybelline Master Contour Stick ($9.99) - This baby glides on smooth and is super easy to use.  Cream contouring seriously couldn't get any simpler - just outline your face with the stick and blend it all in with a sponge.  The effect's subtle so it all looks very natural.  If you want a more dramatic look, simply get your layer on. IMHO, the contouring side's BAMF, but the highlighter's just ok.  I sometimes use the latter on my under eye area + nose, but I prefer powder alternatives.  I own this product in "light," but it's also available in medium and dark.  Rating:  4/5 - minus 1 point for the highlighter.

6.  Pixi by Petra Multibalm ($12) - Available in 5 colors total, these multibalms are made with aloe vera, shea butter and rose hip oil.  These creamy sticks double as lippies & blushes, and they're quite pigmented.  My favorites are as follow: Baby Petal (a pretty medium pink), Wild Rose (a gorgeous mauve rose), and Watermelon Veil (a beautiful light pink).  As always, color's buildable so if you want a more intense look, simply layer and blend with a sponge.  This product gets a 5/5 for practicality, price and quality.

The Best of Lord & Berry Makeup

I'm sure you guys know this by now, but I absolutely love trying new beauty brands - I try to stay on top of all things skincare + cosmetics to provide the best info possible on SS.  So, suffice it to say, I was stoked when b-glowing generously offered to send me a goodie bag full of Lord & Berry products to test.  Here are a few of my personal faves!
1.  Soft Touch Concealer ($22) - I own this baby in ivory, and it's like second skin.  I'm beyond impressed with this concealer.  You definitely need to blend it thoroughly into your skin, but once you do, you're left with a flawless finish.  It's lightweight yet provides medium coverage.  Use it as a spot corrector and/or under-eye highlighter.  As an asian girl, I usually have a difficult time finding the right shade, but lucky for me, this matches my skintone perfectly!  For those of you interested, there are two other color available HERE.  Rating: 5/5

2.  Smudgeproof Eyeliner ($23) -  You guys have no idea how much I needed this liner.  B-glowing totally answered my make-up prayers because I was running super low.  I got this in black, and it works so freaking well.  Yeah, when they say "smudgeproof," they mean it.  Application is hella easy - it glides on with zero effort thanks to its ultra-creamy formula.  You won't ever have to pull your skin to get a crisp line, which is really important to me because my eye area's quite sensitive.  If you're a lover of bold eye looks, definitely cop this stat! The color payoff is unlike any other - it's bold, sharp and straight-up fierce.  Rating:  6/5

3.  Powder Bronzer ($29) - I know I probably sound like a broken record by now, but I'm really loving this bronzer.  I own it in "brick," and it's a great color - similar to Anastasia's "havana."  If you're looking for a new matte bronzer, I highly recommend trying this baby out!  A little goes a long way because it's highly pigmented so don't pile it on from the get go - layer it to get your preferred effect.  Rating:  4.5/5 - 5 stars for the product itself, minus .5 for the price.

4.  20100 Crayon Lipstick ($19) - A total must-have for matte-lip lovers...anddddd pretty much anyone who likes wearing lipstick, period. Ha!  I only have this lippy in "prelude," but it's available in 8 other colors.  I'm definitely going to be purchasing other shades.  This crayon's seriously everything.  The consistency's creamy & moisturizing so you don't have to worry about it drying out your pout.  It also has serious lasting power so you won't need to reapply it constantly.  Do yourself a favor, and try it out for yourself!  You're welcome in advance.  Rating:  5/5

5.  Timeless Liquid Lipstick ($25) - If you're looking for a lippy that will last through anything and everything, pick this up STAT.  Like, I'm not playing around!  This matte lipstick will not BUDGE so you have to make sure you apply it with care. In fact, the lasting power's SO good that it's kind of a pain to remove.  I recommend using cleansing oil to take it all off at the end of the day.  Now, there are 5 different hues total - I own "bold red," and it's a real classic.  You'll be breaking necks left and right with this killer lip color.  One last thing!  This gloss is a bit drying (like most all matte lippies) so you'll need to prep your lips properly pre-application.  Exfoliate them thoroughly (ideally 2-3x a week) and apply lip balm beforehand to prevent dryness.  Rating:  4.5/5 - 5 stars for the lasting power & color, minus .5 for the dryness.

6.  Magic Brow Pencil ($22) - Lord & Berry's dual-sided eyebrow pencil (brush on one side, pencil on the other) contains three different shades: one light, one medium, one dark.  These colors, in essence, create a marbleized effect.  I know it sounds kind of weird, but the end result's extremely natural, at least for me.  It has a super creamy consistency, which means it's easy to blend, BUT you'll find yourself sharpening it quite often because it dulls quickly.  I like to use this in conjunction with brow powder.  First, I create my desired brow shape with powder and then fill in sparse areas with my pencil for an easy everyday look.  I own "blondie," but the pencil's also available in "wonderful" and "brunette."  Rating:  5/5

Conclusion:  I'm officially a fan!  I will DEF. be purchasing Lord & Berry products in the future. For those of you interested in purchasing L&B items for yourself, check out b-glowing! They're a luxury beauty retailer aiming to inspire and empower. Discover your own unique beauty by browsing their online selection, and please let me know if you have any questions.  I'm here for you guys 24/7!

Glossybox: Unboxing the July Box

It's time for another Glossybox unboxing!  I had a super fun time telling y'all about my June package soooo I thought I'd blog about July as well.  I'm pumped to tell you guys about my new goodies. Keep reading to see what's worth the $$$ and what's not!
1.  Fango Essenziali Sheet Mask ($7 for 1, $24 for 4) - I'm beyond impressed with this sheet mask!. This baby feels like second skin for real.  It totally should though - I mean, it's freakin' $7!  Yes, it's expensive, but if you're looking to hydrate parched skin, it'll be well worth the investment. Regardless of the price tag, I'm completely and utterly obsessed with this treatment - pick one up STAT to moisturize like whoa.  This product contains avocado, kelp, and acai berry to nourish, condition, and rejuvenate.  Great for ALL skin types, pick one up if you're looking to treat yoself!

2.  Leighton Denny Miracle Mist - This spray supposedly speeds up your mani's drying time, but I'm not 100% convinced that it delivers.  In fact, I just gave myself a fresh mani tonight, and I honestly couldn't see or feel much of a difference.  I'd say pass on this product unless you have a few extra dollars to spare and want to try something new.

3.  GLOV Make-Up Remover ($12.99) - Although I love the idea of this product, I wasn't super impressed with the end result.  Made of fibers that are 30 times thinner than cotton pads and 100 times thinner than human hair, it's supposed to remove ALL your makeup with only water. You wet it in your sink, remove your makeup, hand wash it with bar soap, and hang it up to dry. It's super soft and reusable for up to 3 months - which is great and all - but when I tried to remove my eye makeup, I had a really hard time doing so.  It works great with foundation but you'll definitely need to purchase eye remover because it doesn't swipe everything off.  I got to try the travel-sized version (fits around my index finger), but there's also a "big" size available for sale in stores (fits around 4 digits).

4.  NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil ( $28.98) - This oil is absolutely amazing - I use it ALL over my body because it does a great job moisturizing!  When I first got this in the mail, I made the mistake of spritzing it in my hair after showering.  Yeah, I ended up waking with a SUPER oily mane.  Don't eff up like me! Spray it on BEFORE you shower so you can rinse it out, but remember to let it sit for a good 15-20 minutes before bathing to let it penetrate. If you have dry skin, massage it on to beautify yourself.  I haven't used this on my face yet, but people apparently like to layer it on top of their usual lotion for extra hydration.  If you decide to do this before I do, shoot me a message and tell me about your results.  Oh, and on top of it all, this product smells ah-ma-zing!

5.  Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21) - I'm always on the prowl for fabulous new lippies so I was thrilled (to say the least) that Too Faced's Liquified Lipstick was included in this month's Glossybox. They sent me a gorgeous dusty mauve called Melted Chihuahua, and I couldn't be happier!  The formula's super creamy, and a little goes a long way so you can justify the semi-hefty price tag.  TIP:  moisturize your lips and/or exfoliate them before application to prevent creasing.  I haven't had any issues, but a few of my friends have experienced drying.  This product gets 5 stars from me though!  It's a truly beautiful shade that glides on with ease.  For those of you interested, this lipstick's available in 14 other colors.

6.  Eyeko Fat Eye Stick - I like this eye stick, but I don't LOVE it.  Like, if I had to list my essentials, it definitely wouldn't make the cut.  However, I do use it from time to time for variety.  This item doubles as a liner + eyeshadow, but I prefer it as the latter.  There are a few different hues available, but I received a sparkly beige in my GB.  I actually like the color a lot - if it were any other shade, I wouldn't be able to wear it on a daily basis, but it's subtle enough for school and work - it just doesn't blend quite as well as I'd like it to.  Eyeko doesn't seem to sell this product anymore, but you can browse other items in their collection HERE.

CONCLUSION:  Glossybox is life.  I look forward to getting their packages each month because they curate their monthly boxes with care and fill 'em with really cool products.  Now, that's not to say I adore every single item they include, but I usually love 80%, which is actually a pretty high percentage!  If you'd like to subscribe as well, click HERE.  They offer a variety of different packages so pick one that works best for you!  Do you guys subscribe to any monthly boxes? If yes, which ones?

The Best of Nourish Organic

Totally pumped to feature Nourish Organic today on SS.  Thanks to their baller marketing department, I had the opportunity to sample a handful of their products.  Before I get into my review, I'd like to tell y'all a bit about their brand.  They're the first beauty company to ever work with the US Department of Agriculture - their goal was to create a collection of products so pure they could be certified organic under the same strict guidelines the government used on food.

Based in Beaver Falls, PA, they create healthy, eco-friendly skin products that are completely natural and organic. Their products are also cruelty-free, gluten-free, and mostly vegan.  As if that weren't awesome enough, they're a socially responsible company that works closely with charities like The Women's Center, Rescue Mission, Meals on Wheels, and the Salvation Army.  They support local schools and regularly donate surplus materials and products to World Vision.  Yeah, don't you want to support them already? I mean, I couldn't be more impressed with their brand!  I'd probably support them purely out of principle alone, but luckily, their products are beyond amazing as well.
1.  Skin Solve:  one of the most amazing moisturizers I've ever used.  This cream-to-oil all over treatment leaves you seriously hydrated.  NO markets this product as "quick-absorbing," but I disagree. Yes, it "dissolves" instantly, but it leaves your face oily afterwards - it's all worth it in the AM though because your skin will be baby soft!  This cream contains shea + coconut butters to nourish, palmarosa to soften and sweet orange to make you smell like a unicorn.  Use it on extra dry spots or on your face for a truly luxe experience - 5 stars for this ridiculously awesome product!  TIP: a little goes a long way so don't go overboard.

2.  Argan Face Serum:  This product is yet another gem from NO.  Like skin solve, this serum hydrates like whoa, but it's much less oily than the aforementioned cream.  Layer this on top of lotion for extra moisturization or wear it instead of lotion.  If you choose to go with the latter, apply a bit of your favorite cream on top!  This item contains moroccan argan oil, apricot kernel oil and rosehip oil to smooth, replenish and soften your skin.  Purchase this product if you feel dry and want extra hydration in your nighttime routine.

3.  Eye Treatment:  I have mixed feelings about this item - I like the applicator because it feels nice and cool against my skin, but the treatment's just not moisturizing enough.  Maybe you guys will feel differently, but this baby's a no-go for me.

4.  Face Toner:  I give this 3.5/5 stars.  It's pretty decent, but it's not my absolute fave.  I may be biased though because I prefer hydrating toners - Estee's Tonique Confort is my go-to.  With that said, this removes impurities without drying everything out too much so if you prefer refreshing toners, this item's definitely worth a try!  Spritz it on in the morning and evening before your moisturizing routine.

5.  Face Lotion:  This lightweight moisturizer slays.  Your skin will seriously feel like velvet afterwards!  It absorbs extremely quickly, and it doesn't leave any sticky film behind.  It evens out your skin tone, improves texture + elasticity and softens like nobody's business.  Use it whenever you feel dry - contains moroccan argan oil, rosewater and shea butter.

6.  Face Cleanser:  This product's absolutely fabulous! It works super well, and you only need to use a tiny bit each time.  Now, it doesn't smell especially great, but that's a good thing because it's fragrance-free aka no chemical stuffs.  In fact, it may possibly be the best cleanser I've used in years (!!!!) Suffice it to say, this is a serious must-try.

Conclusion:  I absolutely LOVED everything except the toner and eye treatment.  I found them to be ok but everything else was so ridiculously on point.  I really can't recommend them enough!  Have you guys tried organic beauty products? Glossybox Goodies: The June Edition

Alright guys, for today's post I'll be unboxing my June Glossybox for y'all.  Keep reading to see what's worth purchasing and what's not!
1.  Tantowel Half Body Classic ($27 for 10 Towelettes - 2 included in GB) - I've heard really good things about this brand, but I personally am not a fan of self-tanners so I won't be trying this out.  I had a really awful experience when I was younger (I basically turned myself orange...with streaks) and it left me scarred soooo I passed!

2.  LA Splash Lip Lacquer High Pigment Collection ($18 - full size included) - Words can't even express how much I love this gloss.  I received "Red Carpet," and it's my new favorite red for sure!  The applicator lined my lips beautifully, and the gloss had a cream to matte finish.  Tip: carry this baby around with you when you go out because you'll want to reapply it every 5-6 hours to restore the rich hue.

3.  Caolion Premium 02 Bubble & Cool Pore Pack Duo ($30 - a sample size was included for each step) - Although I liked the idea of this two-step mask system, I wasn't a fan of the product.  I enjoyed step 1 (cleansing) very much, but step 2 (tighten + refine) totally burned my skin.  I washed it off immediately because it was super painful.  I don't know! I'm glad I got to try a sample from GB though (instead of purchasing the full size) because I was obviously allergic to something.  It would've just been a pain to return!

4.  Sebastian Professional Whipped Creme ($20 - travel size sample included) - I absolutely loved this - the creme was lightweight, but it still managed to give my mane body and eliminate frizz. Tip: a little goes a long way!  Apply a dime-sized amount on your hair post-shower/pre-styling to elevate your hair game.

5.  Icona Milano Emotion Allowed Mascara ($19 - full size included) - I was pleasantly surprised by this mascara!  The effect was very natural, think your lashes but better.  I liked that the product was super buildable - 4-5 swipes really upped my volume factor.  Tip: don't be afraid to layer other mascaras on top, and make sure you let the product dry before curling your lashes!

6.  Sinful Colors x Kylie Jenner Trend Matters Satin Collection ($2.99 - full size included) - A very nice polish!  I was sent "Acid Wash," a sparkly pastel blue!  If you collect different shades, you should definitely look into their collection.  Heads up, the applicator holds a ton of polish so make sure you brush some off on the side of the bottle before using it or else you're going to get an uneven finish.

Have you guys tried any of these products? If yes, what did you think? Also, do you guys subscribe to Glossybox?

BeautyCon Goodies

Spilling the beans on BeautyCon's latest box!  This post is definitely lengthy but super informative so make sure y'all read on.  If any of you guys have questions regarding the items featured, just leave me a comment below, and I'll get back to you ASAP!
1.  NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil ($4.49) - I'm diggin' this pencil for sure.  BeautyCon sent me this in cashmere (aka gold), and I'm a fan.  It works as an eyeliner/eyeshadow,gliding on effortlessly.  It has just the right amount of sparkle so it's tasteful not tacky.  Swipe it on your lids for special occasion or GNO!  Available in a slew of colors - click here to browse!

2.  Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil ($8.99) - I absolutely LOVE this oil.  Use a pump or two on your face to dissolve your makeup before washing your face.  I like to massage it on before jumping in the shower!  I was worried that it'd be super oily, but it comes right off!  I'm SO glad I got to try this out - I'll definitely be repurchasing this once I run out.

3.  Garnier SkinActive Clearly Brighter Daily Moisturizer ($14.99) - I like this moisturizer, but I wouldn't wear it out for a full day of fun in the sun because it's only SPF15.  This product works well with my dry/normal skin now, but I think it'd be too light for me during the winter because I prefer to keep my skin as hydrated as possible!  I do think this works well with all skin types though so give it a try.  It smells really good and should be enough SPF if you slather it on and avoid baking in the sun.

4.  Redken Fashion Waves Sea Salt Spray ($19.50) - This product's supposed to give you "beachy waves," but I didn't really get any? It did help with frizz though, although I hoped that it'd give my mane more texture.  I don't really recommend this product because 1) it's on the pricier side and 2) it doesn't really work.  You could always try it and return it though!  I've heard that some people really like using this spray!  Experiment with it and let me know how it pans out for you by leaving me a comment below.

5. La Fresh Beauty & Personal Care Wipes (pricing varies) - I had the opportunity to test two of these babies out (oil-free face cleanser + body soother), and they were both "meh." To be fair though, face wipes aren't really my thing - I prefer washing my face regardless of how tired I am.  The body soother wasn't strong enough either - it didn't have enough of a peppermint scent for me.  These wipes are fairly affordable, but personally, I'd pass on them.

6.  VersaSpa Face Moisturizing Gradual Tanner ($31.23) - BeautyCon included a sample of this, but I didn't try it out because I don't like to use use self-tanners.

7.  Benzac Acne Solutions Blemish Clearing Hydrator ($7.83) - I honestly don't know how well this product fights acne yet because I've only used it once!  I do have to say that I'm impressed with the formula though.  I've used a lot of spot treatments in my day, and they've almost always left my skin super dry (aka flaky and gross), but this doesn't.  For those of you looking to treat acne, Benzac sells a 3-step regimen - this product is the third and final step of the aforementioned set.  I'm planning on doing a post on the best spot treatments out there so keep an eye out!  If this product works well, I'll make sure to include it in my roundup.  Oh, one thing though!  This item smells awful so if scent's a deal breaker for you, you may want to reconsider your purchase.

8. Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara ($23) - This baby gives you serious volume without clumping - if you're looking for a new mascara to try, purchase this stat!  There seem to be a lot of negative reviews about this online, but I'm not sure why? I personally loved it.  Tip:  apply it slowly to coat every lash.  Don't be afraid to layer either!  As long as you're careful, you won't mess up your eye make-up.  Also, let it dry before using a curler.  Oh and just an FYI, the box didn't include a full-size version - it was sample size.

9.  Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder ($25) - Love, love, LOVE this product!  I own it in taupe, and it looks super natural on my face - for those of you interested, it's available in three other colors as well. The applicator makes it really easy to use!  Start from the center and work outwards - don't try to line your brows with it.  Also, keep in mind that a little goes a long way.  You can always build volume and intensity so go light, at least at first!

10.  NYX Ombre Lip Duo ($11.99) - I really want to like this product, but I don't.  I was excited to try it because I thought it was a cool concept, but the execution was just off.  Basically, you line your lips with the darker shade and fill 'em in with the lighter one to create a cool ombre-style pucker. Sounds easy, right? Nah. Unfortunately, the product made my lips look super dry and blending was a b*tch.  Definitely not worth the money in my opinion!  I typically love NYX products, but this item doesn't make the cut.

11.  Cover FX Contour Brush ($38) - A high-quality brush for sure, but would I pay $38 to buy it? Probably not.  The bristles are really nice, and it does a great job blending, but I don't like the fact that it's double-sided.  I store my brushes in a cup so one side inevitably gets smushed [insert sad face].  Honestly, ELF brushes get the job done just as well - the process just takes a bit longer, ha!

12.  Exclusive discount to Seventeen's "The Edit" - Apparently, Seventeen magazine is launching an online pop-up store this month!  I don't know what kind of stuff they'll have, but I'm planning to check it out (editby17.com).  It sounds like it'll be Forever 21-ish? Anywho, they include a card in the box that gives you an extra 15% off + free shipping on your first order.

Conclusion:  My favorite products were the following: Neutrogena's Ultra Light Cleansing OilGarnier's SkinActive Clearly Brighter Daily MoisturizerToo Faced's Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara, and Smashbox's Brow Tech Shaping Powder.  I'm really glad I had the chance to review this box.  I'm definitely going to purchase the next one because you're getting serious bang for your buck.  For $29, you get to sample a slew of awesome products - many of which are full-sized.  If you want to purchase the box I reviewed, enter code summerpeacelove to get $5 off.

The Best of June Beauty

1.  YSL Mascara Vinyl Couture ($29) - If you're looking for a fabulous lengthening mascara, you need to try this out stat!  It does a really good job without clumping at all.  The product's marketed to "give lashes length, volume and curl with deep, saturated color," but I don't really see much on the color front.  You do get volume and curl though, but like I mentioned earlier, length is this baby's strength. Now, I own this in green, but it looks more like a greenish-black, at least on me (probably because I have dark hair).  Try it out for yourself at your local YSL beauty counter to make sure you get the color you want!  For those of you interested, it's available in 8 other colors here.

2.  Cosmedix Peptide-Rich Defense ($58) - Hands down, my new favorite sunscreen.  I know this product's pricy, but it's worth every penny IMHO.  Most of the items I've used previously have left white residue or have been ridiculously difficult to pat in, but this moisturizer absorbs super quickly and hydrates like a boss, providing a solid base for bb cream, foundation and the like. On top of it all, it contains SPF 50 so your skin's getting serious protection from the sun.  Since this baby is expensive, I save it for "special occasions" aka when I need to put on a full face of make-up.  For my off days, I slather on Olay's Complete UV Moisturizer

3.  Farmacy Skin Dew Hydrating Essence Mist & Setting Spray ($44) - I've never been a huge fan of mists, but this baby's a godsend.  It keeps my skin hydrated, my make-up fresh, and, well, it helps me relax all in all because it smells like heaven (herblike) and feels good on my face.  I honestly have to stop myself from spraying it on several times an hour, ha.  Spritz it on to prevent cake face or use it to soften powder post-application.

4.  No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum ($29.99) - Geared towards those of you looking to prevent + treat advanced signs of aging, this product supposedly reduces deep lines and wrinkles, giving you younger looking skin in just 2 weeks!  Unfortunately (but fortunately), I don't have either yet so I can't vouch for the aforementioned claim. However, I can say that this item leaves your skin soft and silky. The consistency's very light, and the scent's unoffensive so you'll probably love this product if you have sensitive skin.  I got two of these and gave one to my mom, so I'll let you guys know what she says after a month or two!

5.  Supergoop! Shine-On Lip Screen ($22) - I absolutely love the concept behind this product.  It basically works as a topcoat for your lipstick, protecting your pucker from the sun.  I like to slather it on top of my fave matte lip colors for a shiny finish! As a bonus, it leaves your mouth feeling nice and tingly.  One con though, the product tastes kinda "meh" so try not to get it in your mouth, ha.

6.  T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i Dryer ($250) - Beyond impressed with how quickly this works on my mane - it only takes me about 15 minutes to dry + style fully.  It comes with a handy-dandy brush that helps me achieve a professional-looking blow out, and it features two speeds with three heat settings. It also has a Cool Shot button that gives hair a smooth, sleek finish.  For those of you worried about the price tag, simply think about cost per use!  Plus, they offer a two-year warranty for comprehensive coverage so you know they got your back.  On top of it all, it was the winner of two Allure Best of Beauty Awards:  Best Blowdryer and Best Breakthrough.

Have any of y'all tried these products?  If yes, which ones? What are you guys loving this month? Any new beauty products you'd like to tell me about? I'm always looking for new items to try so I'm all ears!

AOL Summer Beauty Awards

I'm stoked to announce that I'm one of AOL's summer beauty judges!  I don't know if you guys remember, but last year, I adjudicated their fall awards - click here if you missed it.  Now, if you guys follow me on snapchat (which you should BTW, ha - my handle's @sensiblestylist), you saw the slew of goodies they sent me.  I'll be telling y'all about my absolute favorites today on Sensible Stylista.
1.  Fekkai Pré-Soleil Hair Radiance & Protection Mist ($19.99) - This product's a must-have for those of you who enjoy frolicking around in the sun.  This mist helps protect your mane from damaging threats like color fade and dehydration while adding radiant shine - it contains a UV filter that basically acts as an invisible shield for your hair. Shake well and spritz it on before and during outdoor shenanigans for best results.  Note:  the directions say to "spray all over," but I recommend exercising self-control because a little goes a long way.  2-3 pumps are more than enough!

2.  Bliss Drench 'n' Quench Lock-in Moisturizer ($38) - I've been obsessed with Bliss body cream for years now, but for some strange reason, I never got around to trying their facial moisturizers.  I'm really glad I had the opportunity to do so though because this item's legit.  It smells amazing and works well with all skin types - I have combination skin, and this product does a great job hydrating. However, what I really love about the product is its texture.  The gel-like consistency feels refreshing and leaves skin soft and supple, which is perfect for summer!

3.  Instanatural Argan Oil Thermal Spray ($13.25) - Heat-protector sprays are an absolute must in my book - the last thing you want to do is fry your hair when styling it so if you use any heat whatsoever, you need to make sure you prevent damage by spritzing this on beforehand.  Instanatural's thermal spray acts as both a protector spray and leave-in conditioner so you're getting major bang for your buck. This product contains 100% pure and organic argan oil from Morocco so your hair's receiving max nourishment and shine.

4.  Mary Kay Lash Love Waterproof Mascara ($15) - I'm super impressed with this mascara.  It does a great job lengthening and creates mad volume without any clumping so feel free to get your layer on if you want!  This formula's ophthalmologist-tested so it's suitable for those with sensitive eyes, and the product strengthens and conditions because it contains the following ingredients:  pro vitamin B5, phytantriol, and vitamin E.

5.  Fiona Stiles Ultra Smooth Waterproof Eye Defining Pencil ($16) - Straight up obsessed with this eyeliner.  It goes on super smooth and is highly pigmented.  The color lasts all day and doesn't smudge at all!  I've only tried metallic brown, but I'm going to purchase matte black and carlyle in the near future.  If you're looking for creamy liner that glides on effortlessly and stays put, give this baby a shot!

6.  Amika Triple RX Nourishing Hair Mask ($38) - If you're looking for a solid intensive hair treatment, look no further.  This product works really well!  The mask combines obliphica (aka sea buckthorn berry), Amika's signature ingredient, with borage oil and west african shea butter. The former strengthens and softens while the latter coats the hair shaft to condition and protect.  Use this once a week to up your hair game!  Massage it into your scalp and leave it on for 5 minutes or so before rinsing it off thoroughly with warm water.  You'll see immediate results!

7.  Lumene Bright Now Vitamin C Sleeping Cream ($11.89) - Honestly, I'm shocked that this product is under $12.  I tried to find it on Ulta, but unfortunately, they don't carry it so I linked it to Amazon instead.  If you're looking to brighten your complexion, make sure you pick this up STAT.  It nourishes while improving one's moisture balance.

Have you guys tried any of these products?  If yes, which ones and did you like them?

Beauty Review: Gillette's Venus Silk-Expert

This post was sponsored by Gillette Venus as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central.  I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.
I'm super excited to tell you guys all about Gillette's new Venus Silk-expert.  For those of you looking to try a different hair removal experience, this tool is a convenient and comfortable solution.  It features cutting edge tech that's easy to handle.  I'm all about at-home spa experiences so this device is a total must-have for me!  The Venus Silk-expert marks a milestone in IPL (intense pulsed light) systems because it has a unique SensoAdapt skin tone sensor that adjusts automatically - it delivers the right amount of light, eliminating the complicated manual color charts that other devices require.

Y'all have no idea how excited I am to blog about this.  I first heard about IPL a year or so ago - my friend was getting married and she booked several sessions with a pro to prep herself for her honeymoon.  I remember her raving about how well it worked for her!  I wanted to try it out for myself, but I never got around to doing so because it was so freakin' expensive (think thousands of $$$).  Now, thanks to Venus, I can do it myself for a flat fee.  The full treatment cycle takes 12 weeks so I don't have final results to share yet, but I'm going to tell you guys about my experience thus far.
First things first, it comes with one IPL device (as you can see, it's fancy looking and fits perfectly in my hand), a two-part power cord, a razor and a user manual.  I read the instructions thoroughly from front to back - if you're looking to try this baby out yourself, take the time to do so as well.  Note: this item works best on mid-to-light skin tones + darker shades of hair! If you have dark skin and light hair, this may not work as well - just giving you a heads up.

Anywho, it's important to realize that this product doesn't remove hair - its purpose is to break the cycle of hair growth so hair will become weaker, finer, lighter, and grow slower.  You start out by using this device consistently (once a week for 12 weeks), but after that, you only really have to do it once a month, maybe even less down the road.  FYI, you still have to shave in between to get stray hairs - that's why they included the razor!
To start, I tried it on my legs.  The device delivers 120,000 pulses, and there are two power levels: normal and gentle.  It operates in target mode & gliding mode - the latter's best for large areas like your legs.  The treatment requires you to shave the area before use so I used the provided razor + gentle soap to prep.  Do not slather on lotions or the like because the area needs to be free of oils pre-treatment.

Using the Venus Silk-expert is easy-peasy.  Simply plug the adapter into the wall, then plug in your tool. The device will light up with a blue UV light!  Remember to always keep full contact with the treated area, and be careful not to expose your eyes to the laser.  Like I mentioned previously, I used the "glide" function on my legs, and the "target" function on my ankles and knees!  If all goes well, I'll be using this baby on my underarms and bikini line.  Oh, and if you were wondering, I used the gentle setting just to be safe.  I was worried that it'd hurt, but the whole experience was totally painless.  I don't see a huge difference yet, but I've only been at it for the last 4 weeks or so.  I trust that this device will deliver, and I'm looking forward to shaving (much) less in the future.

Please let me know if you guys have any questions or concerns.  I'm here for y'all 24/7! Seriously. Don't be afraid to reach out!  The Venus Silk-expert is available online at huge retailers like Amazon and Bed Bath & Beyond, and pricing starts at $399 - clicky here to try it out for yourself.  Also, there's going to be a #VenusSilkExpert twitter party on June 3rd from 12-1 PM EST hosted by @Momcentral & @GilleteVenus so make sure you guys save the date!

Give Yourself the Perfect Mani: Must-Have Tools

Alright guys, today's post is extra sensible because I'm going to tell y'all how to give yourselves pro manicures at home.  You're welcome in advance - not only am I going to help you save mad dough, you're going to do so while maintaining your nail game.  So, without further ado, let's get right to it!  Here are my must-haves:
1.  Zoya Remove+ Nail Polish Remover ($11) - To give yourself a killer mani, you need to start with a solid base. That means, thoroughly removing any polish you've applied previously!  This product does an outstanding job.  It doesn't dry you out - brittle nails are the worst - and as a plus, the pump's extremely convenient.  It's much gentler than other regular removers yet gets the job done in a few swipes with little or no effort.

2.  Ulta Nail Clippers ($5) - Before filing your nails, you need to shape them by carefully clipping them.  I like using these babies from Ulta - they have a streamlined design for effortless control and tapered edges for superior cutting.  They're super light yet sturdy!

3.  Emjoi Micro-Nail Device ($39.95) - After clipping, you want to gently file your nails into shape - go for a slightly rounded shape or square-rounded edge.  Metal or coarse files can do serious damage. Do your fingers a favor and invest in the Micro-Nail device pictured above.  This unique device has an innovative roller spinning 360 degrees at 30 times per second to gently buff away ridges, imperfections and discolorations while adding shine. A huge thanks to Lipton PR for letting me sample this product.  Note:  don't buff nails too smooth or else your polish won't adhere.

4.  OPI Nail Polish ($10) - After soaking your hands in warm water, removing callouses/excess cuticles, and moisturizing, paint your nails with your favorite polish.  Personally, I love OPI!  I'm currently obsessed with this pastel mint green - it's called "That's Hula-rious," ha!  The new Hawaii Collection is on point.  Anywho, remember to pain your nails in layers.  If you have weak nails, use a base!  Then, apply your color polish in layers - two should do the trick, but remember to let each layer dry in between.

5.  Orly Polishield ($10) - To finish off your mani, apply a layer of this 3-in-1 topcoat to strengthen and protect your nails.  It dries super fast and isn't thick like most!  It'll keep your mani from chipping and help you maintain serious shine - your nails will seriously look glasslike.  Tip:  touch up your nails every two days or so with a layer of topcoat to extend your mani's life span. Trust me when I say it'll make a world of a difference!

Unboxing Covergirl's Queen Voxbox

When Influenster reached out and offered to send me their latest parcel, I was thrilled because, as you all know, I love unboxing mystery packages!  I've been a part of their network for quite some time now, and through them, I've had the opportunity to test out a variety of products.  For today's post, I'll be reviewing three new products from Covergirl's Queen Collection.
1.  Covergirl Natural Hue Liquid Makeup ($8.79) -  I hate to bash Covergirl, but I'm definitely not a fan.  I personally didn't have a very good experience!  The makeup didn't absorb well at all, and it went on super unevenly.  Heads up guys, you're getting very little coverage with this - it's basically a tinted moisturizer - so if you want full coverage, get a different foundation.  I tried Amber Glow, but it was way too red for me.  Hopefully y'all will have better luck!  I give this product 1.5/5.

2.  Covergirl Stay Luscious Lipstick ($8.99) - I feel very "eh" about this lipstick.  I had a chance to try Duchess, and although the lippie went on ok, the color just didn't work for me.  Props for its longevity though - it glided on smoothly and stayed put for most of the day.  I give this baby 2.5/5 because of the price!  I definitely think there are better and more affordable products out there for $9, but I'll have to check out the rest to know for sure.  I may totally be biased because of the shade!

3.  False Lash Drama Mascara ($7.49) - I'm kind of starting to feel bad at this point!  I really want to like this mascara...but I don't.  I had a hard time working the applicator, and at a certain point, my lashes started to clump.  Then, on top of it all, I couldn't get the right amount of curl.  I give this a 2/5, and that's me being generous!  It's available for $7 or so on the Covergirl website, but I'd rather save the cash and splurge on a solid mascara that works super well.  That's just me though! Let me know if you want a recommendation!

That's all folks! I'm sorry I was a negative nancy for today's post, but hey, I gotta keep it real.  I'm not going to tell you that something's awesome just because I had a chance to review it for free. However, I do want to thank Influencer for giving me the opportunity to try these items out...even if I didn't like them, ha!
