The Tiered Crepe Dress

I'm all about my new crepe dress from Banana Republic.  Don't you just love the color?  I may or may not have a soft spot for all things mustard.  I know pros say yellows clash with asian skin tones, but I don't care.  I think it looks good, and that's all that matters.  Personal style is exactly that. Personal.  Wear what you want, when you want.  If you happen to like something that's trending, great!  If not, who cares.  Wear what makes YOU happy!  It's all about confidence anyways.
Anywho, if you're interested in this dress, make sure you pick it up STAT because it's currently on sale HERE for $49.99 - it was originally $140 so you're getting a good deal.  This dress is made of 100% polyester, but it feels like silk.  Like all BR designs, this item is quality.  Everything from the fabric to the cut is legit.  The graceful tiers will ooze sophistication and elegance, and as a plus, you'll get tons of wear out of it because it works all year long - wear it sans jacket in warm weather and layer like nobody's business in the Fall & Winter.

It was fairly warm today so I threw on a light jacket and walked out the door.  Man, the weather here has been giving me serious whiplash.  It's freezing one day and totally warm the next. I have NO idea what's going on, but I def. don't mind the spring-y weather.  Mid-60s? Uh, yes please. Andddd I totally just got off topic.   Again.  Sorry!  I'm kind of all over the place right now.  Let's get back to today's look!  I picked my jacket up at Saks Off Fifth a few months ago.  I fell in love with the design at first sight and bought it without thinking twice - it's Free People in case you were wondering. Now, to finish off today's OOTD, I carried my Coach crossbody (you can never go wrong with a bit of animal print) and accessorized with my fave tassel necklace!

The Cowl-Neck Sweater Dress

I can't wait to tell you guys all about my latest find today on Sensible Stylista.  I centered my look around my new sweater dress from Old Navy.  I got it on sale for $10.50 (!!!!) a few days ago.  They were having a big blowout sale for Veteran's Day, so obviously I took advantage.  I tried this dress on in person when it first came out but didn't purchase it because it was expensive - FYI, by "expensive" I mean $39.94, ha.
I highly suggest purchasing this dress while you can!  It's a must-have in my book because it's chic AND comfortable.  I actually bought it in three other colors in addition to the black pictured below! ...yeah, that's how much I adore this dress.  It features a relaxed fit so you don't have to worry about sucking in or masking your muffin top.  You can purchase this baby HERE if you're interested.  Also, feel free to tweet me, message me, whatever, if you have questions.  I'm always here for you guys!
More on today's OOTD: I styled my dress with my Donna Degnan coat (available HERE).  I don't know what it is about this jacket, but it ups my outfit game whenever I wear it. I decided to keep things simple accessory wise so I threw on my YSL crossbody and called it a day because my Rachel Zoe ankle-strap shoes make quite a statement.  I'm all about simplicity as of late - IMHO, there's nothing worse than over-accessorizing.

Inspired by The Good Wife

I'm beyond excited to partner up with Lafayette 148 New York today on Sensible Stylista.  I drew style inspiration from the TV show, "The Good Wife" and created a classic look for you guys. Alicia Florrick, the title character of the show, always looks polished and sophisticated. Are any of you guys fans of the show?  What do you guys think of her style?
For today's OOTD, I centered my look around my new coat courtesy of Lafayette 148 (available here in four different color pairings).  I paired it with gray skinnies and an oversized sweater for a chic yet comfortable look.  I accessorized with a classic tote but injected personality with a pair of kick@$$ heels.  I purchased these shoes from Saks Off Fifth a while back; they were on sale for $30!  A hell of a deal if you ask me because they're Charles Jourdan - they typically run $200+.
Oh, did I mention that my coat's reversible? Ta-da!  I'm not sure which side I like more so I'm going to ask you guys.  Do you prefer the black or the gray?

Holiday Deals 101: A Great Place to Find All of the Deals You Crave

I'm super excited to partner up with CyberMonday.com today on Sensible Stylista.  Make sure you guys read carefully because I'm going to tell y'all how to score the best deals this holiday season. First of all, bookmark CyberMonday STAT.  I want you to think of CM as your bargain shopping bible because it compiles all the sales for top retailers in one place, saving you time, money and energy.  You won't have to rush to different stores or sites to find the best deals around.

This site features deals and special savings from hundreds of retailers all year round.  CM collects coupon codes, limited time offers and special savings opportunities from over 800 online stores and puts them all in one convenient place for you to use.  In addition to hundreds of special offers, some of which will be exclusive promos only available on the site, it'll be featuring a Deal of the Hour on its front page on Black Friday or Cyber Monday highlighting a different retail promo.  Offers will include free shipping, dollars off, percentages off, and free gifts with purchases at some of your fave stores.

Shopping CM's site is easy peasy because it's clear and organized.  It has five tabs at the top for your browsing convenience: categories, offers, holiday, holiday entertaining, and store directory. Personally, I'm all about the offers tab because shipping's a deal breaker for me.  Unless it's something I seriously can't live without, I'll pass if I have to pay for shipping.  Categories is also a fave.  There are 13 total, and they each have sub-categories.  Here's an example from Beauty & Skin Care.  The most popular sales are displayed at the top and all other deals (from various stores) are listed at the bottom.  If it's easier for you to simply search via store, you can do that using the store directory.

Want to be alerted of featured deals? CM will send you emails about the best money saving deals from the most popular stores of the season. Just enter your email address at the bottom of the site and click "submit."

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Sensible Stylista x Madden Girl: Part 1

I'm super excited to partner up with Madden Girl (via Kohl's) today on Sensible Stylista.  I am completely and utterly obsessed with my new wedge boots.  They're so warm and comfy, and as a plus, they go with everything. The tassel zipper's the cherry on top.  If you're looking for new winter shoes, you need to check these babies out STAT.  If you don't have a Kohl's near you, no worries! They're available online - clicky here to purchase.  Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.  I'm always happy to hear from y'all!
Anywho, I styled my boots with an oversized poncho from Gap (available here).  I skipped tights today, but if you want, you can throw on leggings for extra warmth. This piece is beyond chic - think designer quality. It's made of a wool and polyester blend so it's super soft, and it has wide arm openings, side vents, and contrast ribbon throughout.  Note: it's only available in "one size."  For your reference, I'm 5'5 and about 118 lbs.  I personally like the fit, but if you're super petite, this may be too big for you! You should try it on though!  Just order it.  Their return policy's awesome so you have nothing to lose.  If it doesn't work out, just print out a return label and send it back free of charge!
A close-up shot of my boots!
One last shot for you guys before I leave you!  How do you guys feel about ponchos - are they a do or a dont?

Babblebox: Stocking Stuffers for Beauty Buffs

I'm beyond excited to tell you guys all about BabbleBox today on Sensible Stylista.  They sent me four fabulous products to review, and I'm pumped to tell you guys about them.  These items also happen to (very conveniently) make great stocking stuffers/gifts!  Yeah, you're welcome in advance. Anywho, let's take a closer look:
1.  Way Too Tan Dark Hybrid Tanning Silicone:  This product's a high-end, one-of-a-kind, multi-purpose tanning lotion that can be used as a sunless product, or outdoors at a pool or beach.  It contains ultra-premium silicone emulsion offering a rich, luxe sensation with multiple natural enhancers that give you a fast, gorgeous, and dark tan.  Potent anti-aging organic antioxidants, including powerful grape seen extract, help protect and promote a youthful glow and enhance skin health.  High concentrations of Sodium Hyaluronate boosts moisture and fights aging by helping skin maintain elasticity and firmness, diminishing wrinkles.  It's the BEST sunless tanner I've ever used.

2.  MakeUp Forever Ultra HD Foundation:  I'm completely and utterly obsessed with this foundation. I can see why it's one of MF's bestsellers - it's very natural-looking!  Developed specifically for the film and TV industry's most advanced technology,  it creates a naturally flawless complexion.  It features uniquely-coated pigments that provide medium to buildable coverage with an even lighter weight, second-skin texture that looks just like skin.  For those of you wondering, it's available in 40 different shades.  TIP:  apply with their skin primer to create the perfect canvas for smoother, more even, and longer-lasting makeup.  Apply two pumps in thin layers, starting in the center of the face and stretching outward.  Use a flat foundation brush, tap where you need most coverage, and stretch to smooth.
3.  LAQA&Co Lip Pencils:  If you're looking for new lippies, make sure you shop LAQA&CO's collection ASAP.  Their multi-functional products are creatively packaged featuring artwork by young artists who each receive a cut of the profit from every product purchased.  Their lip pencils are light weight yet matte.  They double as lip and cheek stain and give you a fab fresh-faced glow that lasts all day long.  I also got to try their Lip Lube in Golly Geez Whiz.  It's a high-gloss, lightly pigmented lip balm that also works as a lip plumper.  If you want a bolder color, simply layer.  FYI, use code HOLIDAYLOVE to get an extra 30% off your purchase - valid until October.
4.  Jessica Simpson's Ten - I was thrilled to see Jessica Simpson's new fragrance included.  This perfume has a lovely floral, fruity scent that's combined with a feminine and sophisticated undertone of vanilla infusion, white chocolate bean, sandalwood, and driftwood.  The bottle's design mirrors the tenth anniversary theme with a single, elegant feather at the top, a symbol of the brand's free spirited style.   This scent was created in collab with senior perfumer Mary Pierre Julien of Givaudan.  FYI: if you purchase a full sized fragrance from JS, you get a complimentary signature tote bag with your purchase.  Clicky here for deets!

Sensible Stylista x YMI Jeans

I'm beyond excited to partner up with YMI Jeans today on Sensible Stylista.  I centered today's latest around my new chambray tunic c/o YMI (available here).  It's a serious must-have in my book because it's comfortable AND fashionable.  The self-tie highlights the small of my waist, which is awesome because it makes me look way skinnier than I actually am, ha.  Wear it with jeans (like I did below) or pair it with warm leggings and boots for a stylish fall look.  Also, for your reference, I'm wearing a size small. If you want an oversized fit, I recommend sizing up.

It was chilly out so I wore my fave trench coat (similar here) on top and accessorized with my check scarf (similar here).  Both pieces are from Burberry, and I (surprisingly) scooped them during after-Christmas sales in FL.  I usually vacation there during the winter because the weather's amazing! When I'm there, I always make sure to hit up their premium outlet mall because they have a ton of designer pieces available for less. I've scored incredible pieces from Armani, Burberry, Saks, Barneys New York, Kate Spade, and more!
Moving onto my skinnies!  These pants are to die for.  They're called WannaBettaButt jeans, and I can totally see why.  They lift and shift your backside, giving you a firmer look with contour seams. The high-waist hides your muffin-top AND elongates your legs.  For those of you interested, these bottoms are available HERE in 4 different washes - FYI, I'm wearing "dark wash."

The Laser-Cut Trench

Alright guys, I'm super excited to share today's work-friendly look with y'all. I centered my OOTD around my new laser-cut trench courtesy of Donna Degnan.  It's definitely a wardrobe fave.  It adds just the right amount of edge to any and every ensemble.  For those of you unfamiliar with the brand, their label's all about effortless sophistication.  They were founded on the belief that women should look chic on all occasions.  Now, this trench IS an investment, but it's worth every penny IMHO!  I highly recommend picking up one for yourself, especially since it's on sale HERE.
Everything else I'm wearing today is old!  My dress pants are from Madewell, my shoes are from Castro (available here for $26.77), and my top's from H&M.  I'll make sure to link similar items for you guys below since I don't have product URLS listed.

8 Pieces, 8 Ways: Finale

Oh man, I can't believe this is my last look for "8 Pieces, 8 Ways!"  How sad.  I'll have to do another style challenge soon because I had a blast doing this one.  What should I tackle next?  I've been thinking about trying Kendi's 30x30 remix.  Have you guys heard of that one?  I'd love to hear your thought!  Leave me a comment below or hit me up on social.

Anywho, let's talk fashion.  For today's OOTD, I paired my Ann Taylor turtleneck with my Talbots pencil skirt.  I wore my Theory blazer on top for a sophisticated vibe but took it off because I got hot shooting.  Hashtag blogger problems, ha.  I carried my prada tote and threw on fierce ankle-strap heels to kick everything up a notch.  To finish off my look, I belted my skirt to highlight the small of my waist - you guys know how much I love visual illusions.  Yay for a faux-hourglass shape, ha! Today's ensemble is a solid work-friendly look.  It's not particularly unique, but it's classy and comfortable.  I've been a fan of polished outfits like these as of late.  What do you guys think - yah or nah? I promise I won't get offended if you don't dig this look!

8 Pieces, 8 Ways: Part 7

I'm all about casual cool today on Sensible Stylista. For part 7 of my style challenge - if you're just tuning in, make sure you read part 1 HERE to check out rules and such - I decided to get my layer on. I started with my Sincerely Jules graphic tee and tucked it into my fave pair of high-waisted skinnies - (if you're wondering, they're from Aero).  I threw on a classic button-front and topped it off with my Ann Taylor moto jacket to battle the fall chill.  To finish off the look, I carried my Coach crossbody and wore stylish yet comfortable ankle boots.

This is pretty much how I dress for a lazy day!  No sweats for me, I've upgraded, ha...unless I'm at home stuffing my face with chinese delivery watching netflix.  That's the exception though.  Trust me, high-waisted jeans (or bottoms for that matter) are the way to go.  They're super flattering because they cover muffin top and elongate your legs.  Visual illusions are def. awesome.  My bod's not in great shape, but I know how to dress for it!  To be honest, I'm totally self-conscious of my body.  I'm not trying to fish for compliments or anything.  In fact, I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm insecure, but hey, it's the truth and you know how I like to always keep it real.  I sit on my butt all day long because I'm either practicing, blogging or studying, and it's showing.  I need to get it together.  If any of you are looking to get in shape, let me know!  It'd be great to be virtual workout buddies.
Anywho, sorry I got so off topic, ha.  If you're looking to shop my look, here's a widget for your viewing pleasure.  OH, and don't forget to enter my international giveaway with Define Me Scent HERE to win 5 roll-on scents worth $180!

8 Pieces, 8 Ways: Part 6

For part 6 of my style challenge (rules can be viewed here), I put together an office-friendly look for you guys since it's Workwear Wednesday and all.  To start, I paired my classic Polo button-front with my Talbots pencil skirt.  I could've worn my Theory blazer on top, but I went with my faux-leather moto jacket instead for some edge.  I feel like leather (or high-quality pleather) always adds a bit of badassity.  Moving on, my ankle-strap heels are a step up from simple, black pumps because of their mesh detailing. Even if you can't mess around with work basics, you can still keep things fun with accessories - at least that's how I turn up while maintaining a polished, professional vibe.
Here's a close-up shot of my necklace.  I absolutely love this piece.  I got it from InPink ages ago, and I'm still a huge fan.  Unfortunately, it's no longer available online, but I'll make sure to link something similar for you guys below. I really enjoy wearing chokers underneath collars because they look built-in.
Just in case you want to shop my look:

8 Pieces, 8 Ways: Part 5

For my latest, I styled a very classic look for you guys.  I've been into polished ensembles as of late. I kept things simple today with a button-front and blazer - a foolproof combo that slays in any situation.  In my opinion, every girl needs a solid button-front - it's a wardrobe must-have.  If you're looking, I recommend checking out Polo or Brooks Brothers.  Their factory outlets carry wonderful options that are both chic and affordable.  TIP: make sure you guys subscribe to their email/mailing list beforehand to get the most bang for your buck!  They send coupons out all the time so take advantage.
I accessorized with my Coach crossbody - you guys are going to see this piece a ton because it's currently my favorite bag.  Animal print is always a do in my book, but too much can be tacky so be careful.  I personally like to incorporate pops of it with bags or shoes - that's just me though!  On another note, if you're looking for more animal print inspo, clicky HERE.  I may or may not spend way too much time pinning, ha.  I spend a good hour pinning at night.  I plan to sleep at 1, but end up pinning until 2.  Hashtag blogger problems, ha!  Anywho, I'll leave it at that and let you guys browse. I like to think that I have pretty good taste, but then again I'm biased.  Oh, and just in case you guys want to shop today's look:

Top Five Moisturizing Lip Products

1.  Hourglass No. 28 Lip Treatment Oil ($42) - Although pricy, this product - made of cutting-edge actives, botanicals, and skin-rejuvenating vitamins - is liquid gold.  It conditions and shields against environmental elements, while strengthening the moisture barrier and boosting skin smoothness.  As a plus, the item's dispensed via an antibacterial, 24 karet tip for an extra soothing effect.

2.  C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve ($5.50) - If you have dry lips, this product's a must-have.  It's emulsified with rose extract, which conditions and helps ease irritation.  It gives you a light pink tint and happens to smell like heaven.  Apply a thin layer at night to keep your pucker moisturized.  Heads up, there's one "con," you have to use your finger for application, which sucks for a germaphobe like myself.  I recommend washing your hands before use.

3.  Vapour Organic Lip Balm ($20) - For those of you looking for a solid non-glossy lip balm, this product is the bees knees.  It has an antioxidant and botanical-rich formula that delivers moisture against dryness and chapping.  The jojoba oil boots hydration while other ingredients reduce inflammation.  Ideal for both guys and gals looking for a luxe chapstick.

4.  Bite Agave Lip Mask ($26) - A luxurious leave-on lip mask that moisturizes with a bio-active blend of organic agave nectar, jojoba oil, vanilla CO2 extract, and trans-resveratrol.  The consistency's nice and thick, and the packaging's really cute.  I love the tube it comes in!

5.  Burt's Bees Lip Crayons ($8.99) - Available in six creamy colors, these amazing crayons are the BEST tinted lip products you'll ever buy.  You don't get ANY flaking because this item moisturizes while giving you a matte finish.  I definitely prefer these crayons to lipsticks! If you have dry lips but want to give 'em a little color, make sure you try these out ASAP.  Carolina Coast and Sedona Sands are my two favorite shades!

8 Pieces, 8 Ways: Part 4

It's time for part 4 of my style challenge.  If you missed my other posts, no worries.  Clicky HERE for part 1, HERE for part 2, and HERE for part 3.  Anywho, I've noticed over the course of the week that I apparently have a thing for scarves.  Yeah, that sounds about right.  I styled today's basics (faux-leather jacket, black turtleneck, and high-waisted jeans) with a chic but affordable version to spice things up.  For those of you wondering, my scarf's from Charlotte Russe.  They carry a ton of cute designs in-store and online - if you're looking to make a statement on the cheap, I recommend hitting up your local CR stat.  Scarves make incredible accessories so I suggest purchasing a slew of 'em in different colors and prints.  I personally own 20+!  Moving onto, I threw on Valentino-inspired heels (similar ones available HERE for $35.99) to match and carried my YSL crossbody for extra oomph.

Sensible Stylista x SnobSwap

I'm beyond excited to invite you guys to an event I'm hosting with SnobSwap in November.  For those of you unfamiliar with the brand, they're the only destination to shop Chanel, Celine, Louis Vuitton, and Hermes (to name a few) from the best consignment boutiques in the country.  They're legit.  Like seriously legit.  Like featured in R29Instyle's Best of the WebWashington PostWashingtonian, and BuzzFeed legit, ha.
So, DMV friends, make sure you guys come to their incredible event, "The Best of SnobSwap DC," on November 5th to party it up with me - I'll be styling looks and mingling like it's nobody's business.  Plus, there will be pop-ups of the best consignment stores in DC, innovative local chefs serving cocktails and apps, beauty bags from Blue Mercury and more.  It really doesn't get much better than that!  Early bird tickets can be purchased HERE for $20. Make sure you guys pick them up now rather than later because they'll be $30 at the door.  A portion of ticket sales will go to Operation Turbo (read about their organization here) so you can feel good about having a fab time!

Now that I got those deets out of the way.  Let's talk FASHION!  I want to share some of my favorite SnobSwap picks with you guys.

Le sigh.  I may or may not have a thing for bags.  I've literally been drooling over these for...most of my life, ha! Now I can cop them for a fraction of the price - yay for bargain deals.  Anywho, let me break down SS for you guys, and by "SS" I mean SnobSwap not Sensible Stylista, ha. Here's how it works: you can buy an item instantly at its listed price or make an offer to bargain for the best deal.  If your offer is accepted, you're required to check out in 48 hours. You pay with credit card online - all your transactions are protected with SnobSwap's Buyer Protection, and after your purchase, SS will send you a tracking number.  Also, SS has generously offered to give Sensible Stylista readers an extra discount with code SENSIBLESTYLISTAXSNOBSWAP.  Enter it at checkout to get an additional 20% (up to $100) on your purchase - valid on boutique purchases!  Oh, and on another note, if you're interested, you can SELL your designer items as well.  Clicky HERE for more info...

8 Pieces, 8 Ways: Part 3

I'm all about casual cool today on Sensible Stylista.  In case you're just tuning in, I'm currently tackling a fun style challenge on the blog.  I'm sure you can tell by the title, but this is (very obviously) look 3 of 8.  I've limited myself to 8 pieces of clothing, and they're all listed HERE for your viewing convenience. Although I'm not allowed to wear anything else, I'm letting myself accessorize with whatever's in my closet (bags, shoes, jewelry, etc.).

For today's OOTD, I started with my graphic tee & cardi - that combo should look familiar because I wore it HERE for part 1.  However, instead of wearing jeans, I paired the set with my Talbots pencil skirt for a polished yet trendy vibe.  I belted it with a skinny belt - I'm not into wide designs lately - to highlight the small of my waist, drawing the eye upwards and creating the illusion of longer legs. Like before (in part 1), I kept things simple on the jewelry front.  In my opinion, this top's too "loud" for statement jewelry.  To finish off my look, I threw on my current fave heels (available here for $27 at Castro) and grabbed a chic, oversized tote to carry my life, ha.
In case you guys want to shop my look!

8 Pieces, 8 Ways: Part 2

Yay! It's time for part 2 of my 8-piece style challenge.  Ha, I sound like I'm ordering chicken or something.  For those of you just tuning in, make sure you click here to read all about it.  Anywho, for today's OOTD, I started with the following basics: a classic button front, high-waisted jeans, and a faux-leather moto jacket.  I tied my shirt to create a longer line, visually elongating my legs.  As I'm sure you guys know, I'm all about illusions.  My body definitely needs work - I've gained quite a bit of weight - but luckily, I know how to hide it well...or so I'd like to think, ha.

Moving on, I added color by throwing on a fun, printed scarf.  I scored this adorable piece at Soft Surroundings' grand opening at Fairfax Corner a while back.  I took advantage of the color palette and carried my magenta Givenchy Antigona to match.
Just in case you guys want to shop my look:

College Fashion Week

Soooo yesterday was officially crazy.  My schedule has been insane as of late!  I woke up at 6, practiced piano from 7-9:30 (which was NOT enough time BTW, ugh), taught piano from 9:30-4, and then drove to DC to cover Her Campus Blogger's College Fashion Week.  I ended up getting home at like 11, which is fine, but I had to stay up until 2 because (of course) I had more work to do.  Life's been mad hectic, but I'm kind of okay with that.  In fact, I secretly love being hella busy. What can I say, being productive makes me happy!

ANYWHO, let's talk a bit about the event!  The show took place at W Hotel in DC and was sponsored by awesome brands like European Wax Center, Milani, Monthly Gift, and more!  They created a really cute runway around VIP/press seats.  I got to sit in the front row so I had a great view of all the clothing (provided by Neiman Marcus, Forever 21, Macy's, and more).  As a plus, they had fab swag bags with lots of goodies laid out for us!
Let's take a look at my fave sponsor's booth! Isn't their setup cute?  European Wax Center was founded a decade ago on the belief that all of us deserve gorgeous skin by not concealing who we are, but by having the courage and confidence to reveal our natural, beautiful skin. They invented the "4 Steps to Gorgeous" process to ensure the most comfortable experience possible - their exclusive waxing techniques prep skin before AND after.  As a bonus, all first-time guests get a complimentary wax (!!!!)
Here are shots of the EWC ladies hard at work, beautifying everyone!
I got my brows filled in, too!  My technician was super sweet, helpful, and gorgeous.  She used EWC's Brow Powder and Shape It on me to create a polished look.  If you have light or sparse eyebrows, their brow powder will do wonders.  They're available in 3 duo shades, and you can apply it dry for a natural look or wet for a dramatic finish.  I personally prefer the former, but that's just me! Shape It is a total must-have because it'll keep your unruly brows at bay with one sweep.  This styling essential is alcohol and paraben free and nourishes with aloe leaf extract.  Use it whenever you want to add a bit of oomph.
In case you're wondering, my mom took this shot of me, haha.  I'm so lucky to have her - she's my best friend AND role model.  Doesn't she look absolutely fabulous?  I keep telling her that she needs to start her own blog!  Maybe she'll take my advice to heart one day, ha.
Before the show started, the gorgeous Allie Gonino (Laurel from The Lying Game) opened with an original set.  She had a beautiful voice! I was really impressed with her music!
Unfortunately, I didn't get any good shots of the models walking.  Sorry, I'm still learning how to use my DSLR, ha.  It's definitely not easy - there are so many options, and I'm not good with artificial lighting.  I took this shot at the very end when the models came on stage!  I loved that they used "real girls" - recruited from local colleges - for the show.  They looked like they were having a blast!  Also, if you're wondering, the co-host pictured below is Windsor Western, the President of HCB.  She co-founded Her Campus with Stephanie Kaplan Lewis and Annie Wang!
I hope you guys enjoyed today's latest!  A special thanks to European Wax Center and Her Campus Media for sponsoring this post.

8 Pieces, 8 Ways: Part 1

Alright everyone, I'm extra excited for today's post because I'm taking on a fun style challenge.  I've decided to limit myself to 8 pieces for the next 8 posts.  I feature a lot of new stuff on SS all the time, so I thought I'd do something different because the last thing I want is for y'all to think that you need a ginormous closet to look good...because you don't.  Seriously.  Don't believe me?  I'll prove it! Let's start by taking a look at my clothing picks:

1.  My Ann Taylor Turtleneck (similar)
2.  My Talbots Pencil Skirt
3.  My Aeropostale high-waisted jeans (similar)
5.  My Polo Button-Front (similar)
6.  My Ann Taylor Faux-leather Moto Jacket (Similar)
7.  My Theory Blazer (similar)
8.  My Our World Boutique Animal Print Cardigan (similar)

So here's how it's going to work.  I'm going to create everyday outfits with the aforementioned pieces. I won't be able to wear any other articles of clothing, but I'll be accessorizing with shoes, bags, jewelry, etc. of my choice!  Without further ado, here's look no. 1...
I paired my graphic tee with my fave animal print cardi.  The combo works really well in my opinion because it's simple yet stylish.  I skipped jewelry all together for today's OOTD because my shirt's kind of bold - I'm not sure if that's the right word to use, but the text's large and eye-catching. Hopefully you know what I mean, ha.  I did, however, "accessorize" with my YSL crossbody bag. The chain & tassel add just the right amount of bling.  To finish off the look, I capitalized on the casual factor by throwing on sneaker slip-on heels.  I've had these Cole Haan shoes FOREVER, and I wear them all the time.  They're super comfy and add a trendy vibe to my ensembles.

Stay tuned for my next look! I'll be sharing it on Wednesday. I promise it'll be work-friendly, ha! What do you guys think of my style challenge? Would you be willing to participate? Oh, and before I leave you, I just want to remind you guys that I'm hosting two fabulous giveaways on SS right now. Clicky here to enter them both.
