A Touch of Lace

For today's post, I've featured a royal-blue skater dress courtesy of Deb.   I love the way it hugs my body in all the right places. The lace "belt" accentuates my waist, successfully flattering my shape while creating the illusion of longer legs.
I accessorized with an edgy statement necklace for contrast.
The fun sunnies add a playful touch!  Side-note: I've been obsessed with unique sunglasses as of late.  I actually just ordered cat-eye sunglasses - I can't wait to feature them on here!

For today's post, I've remixed a printed peplum skirt from Forever 21.  I featured it on Sensible Stylista a couple months ago - if you'd like to see how I styled it back in May, clicky HERE.
Anywho, I centered today's look around my playfully flirtatious skirt.  I highlighted the vibrant print by choosing accessories that complemented its bold color scheme.

High-Waisted Shorts for the Young Professional

For today's post, I've centered my look around a pair of high-waisted shorts from Forever 21. My cousin, Joone, ordered a bunch of stuff from them online, and I totally lucked out because she didn't like the way they fit her, hardy har har.  Hand-me downs? Cast-offs? YES PLEASE.
Anywho, I actually styled these shorts last summer.  If you'd like to see the post, clicky HERE.  I thought it'd be fun to experiment with a more "sophisticated" pairing this time around. The classic black & white blouse, sky-high heels, and vintage bag really elevate the look - think high-waisted shorts for the young professional.
Blouse & Shorts:  Forever 21 - old
Necklace:  c/o Chicnova ($10)
Shoes:  Candie's via Kohl's
Bag:  Vintage Bally - gifted
Sunnies:  Cole Haan via TJ Maxx

Crochet Babydoll Mini-dress

This adorable dress, courtesy of Oasap, is probably the girliest thing I own.  I don't mean that in a bad way or anything.  In fact, it's probably good that I'm trying to embrace my inner femininity.  I act too much like a dude sometimes!  Whatever.  It is what it is.
Anywho today's dress, in essence, accessorizes itself with its puffed sleeves, peter pan collar, crochet trim, and empire waist. Therefore, I kept it simple by carrying a classic bag and throwing on a pair of black heels. The "conservative" vibe of the bag creates a nice contrast with the otherwise romantic look.  The black also stands out nicely against the creme.
Dress:  c/o Oasap ($32.44)
Bag:  Bvlgari - gifted
Shoes:  Candie's via Kohl's
Sunnies:  Cole Haan via TJ Maxx

Sponsor Spotlight: Luxe Craving

Today's look of the day features a sheer blouse that I previously showcased back in April (click HERE to see how I styled it then).  The aforementioned look is pretty preppy - think style with ease in a county club setting, ha! Hence, I tried to create an edgier look for contrast.  This pairing is trendier in nature due to the bold juxtaposition of prints.
I definitely wouldn't have been able to pull this look off a couple of weeks ago.  It was just too hot.  I probably would've passed out from heat stroke, but the weather's cooled down a bit so I felt more comfortable sporting darker colors.
Skinnies: Madewell ($40.80 - originally $88)
Blouse:  Lauren Conrad via Kohl's ($7 - originally $50)
Shoes: Candie's via Kohl's - old
Bag: Kate Spade ($113 - originally $268)
Necklace: c/o Luxe Craving ($36)
Earrings: c/o Button Willow Crafts ($9 for a set of 2)
Sunnies: Coach Factory Outlet - old

I feel so lucky to have worked with Selena from Luxe Craving.  Both of the pieces she sent me were absolutely stunning, and I had a blast featuring them on Sensible Stylista.  If you guys missed my first review, click HERE!  Selena, being the sweetie that she is, actually named the piece after me!  If you'd like to purchase the "Kimberly Fringe Necklace", clicky HERE!  If you guys haven't checked out her store yet, make sure to do so!  Here are some of my favorite picks (excluding the ones I reviewed of course):

Sponsored by Aeropostale & Wild Butterfly Boutique

I'm loving my new blazer courtesy of Aeropostale.  It's been years since I've stepped foot into an Aero store to be honest.  I've always associated it with middle/high school students for some reason.
It's safe to say that I was wrong.  There were actually plenty of chic & versatile options available.  I chose to review this piece because I thought it'd transition beautifully into Fall. Plus, ya'll know how I feel about blazers - one can never have enough!  If you're interested in purchasing this piece, clicky here.  FYI: It's also available in black.
So... this is me pretending to hail a cab.  HAHA!  I officially have a newfound respect for models because posing is freakin' HARD! At least my new necklace looks purdy.  If you guys are LOVING this necklace as much as I am, ya'll are in luck because Wild Butterfly Boutique has agreed to give one lucky reader a piece of their choice! This necklace may look familiar to you guys - I featured it in an earlier post called "Look for Less: J. Crew Statement Jewelry".  Anyways, check back later this week for your chance to win!

Playing with Color: Mint + Fuchsia

For today's post, I've centered my look around mint & fuchsia accessories.  As ya'll know, I'm a huge fan of unique and fun color combinations, so when I received these gorgeous new pieces in the mail (bag + necklace), I just HAD to showcase them together.
I wore an oversized blush blouse and paired it with white shorts to highlight the top's trim.  I knotted the top because I didn't have any cute belts that matched my outfit's color scheme. It works out though, since the knot functions as a faux-belt.

Workwear: Chic in Black & White

For today's outfit post, I've decided to feature a look geared towards the young professional. I bought my blouse & skirt from Forever 21.  As I'm sure you guys know, Forever 21 is one of my favorite stores.  I shop there all the time!  Anyways, make sure to check out their blouses!  TIP: Simplicity is key.  Look for plain - they have a lot of embellished versions - blouses made of nice material.  I seriously think I have one in every color.  I like to pair them with pencil skirts & accessorize with statement jewelry.
