Sensible Stylista x Hair Cuttery

Alright guys, I'm gonna be real honest with y'all.   I'm kind of crazy about my hair - I like it long and lush like Rapunzel, ha.  I'm also mad picky about salons - I don't usually mind dropping cash on hair appointments because I usually only go once or twice a year.  Definitely not the greatest idea, but whatevs.  I make it work!  Anywho, I decided to work with +Hair Cuttery and try them out for today's post...

Before - I know, I know.  My hair was hella long.  BTW, I got my hair did after this shoot!  Don't worry, I didn't dress up THIS much for my appointment *grins*

I ended up getting a shampoo + trim + layers for $19.  Oh, and if you were wondering, I went to the HC in Hanover, MD.  I had a great experience there - the salon was busy yet clean, and they had a huge selection of products available in-store.  My stylist, Linh, was super sweet, and she did a lovely job with my mane.  Have you guys ever been to a HC?  I'd love to hear about your experience below!  BTW, clicky HERE to contact them via FB and HERE to tweet them with any questions you may have...

After - my hair feels SO much lighter.  I'm so glad I got my split ends taken care of!

Disclosure:  I have received promotional consideration and a free salon service from Hair Cuttery, but all opinions are my own.

Bitter Root Vintage

Channeling my inner Audrey Hepburn for today's post.  I've partnered up with Bitter Root Vintage - so excited to tell you guys about my new dress.  This fit-and-flare cocktail dress is seriously beautiful.  A stunning tulle-lined skirt and deep-v back?  I think yes.
The dress has a padded bust and a skirt that's fully lined!  Clicky HERE to purchase - it's currently on sale for $68 (originally $82).
A closer look at the back - LOVE the bow so much!  BTW, this dress has A LOT of volume so keep that in mind. Let me know if you guys have any questions about the piece.  I'd be more than happy to answer!

Love the material like whoa!  The V-shaped cutout bodice and black ribbon accents flatter and enhance your shape. I promise you'll feel like a total rockstar!  I kept things simple and accessorized with a pair of glam statement earrings courtesy of +BlackFiveOfficial.  Cop these babies stat guys. They're absolutely beautiful and only cost $10!

Super excited to partner up with AX Paris today on SS.  I've styled yet another holiday look for you guys, and this one's a showstopper. Dude, two-tone sequin bodycon?  So. Much. Winning.  Although this fab dress is ridiculously hot, it's a tad bit too long for me - y'all know how much I love my minis.  I do recommend this piece though, especially if you're a fan of midi-lengths! It's definitely a quality dress.  Oh, and if you didn't know, sequined pieces add bulk so keep that in mind.
For those of you wondering, my clutch is from Mimi Boutique.  Love the lace overlay and detachable shoulder strap. As you can see, I own the piece in grey, but it's also available in gold HERE.

Silver Bells

Alright guys, it's story time.  Seven years ago, I bought this trench on sale at a Coach Factory Outlet in NYC.  I was dumb and bought it even though it was too big - a total no-no in my book.  You should NEVER buy something just because it's an amazing deal - it'll end up chillin' in the back of your closet.  My sleek silver trench lived in the back of my closet for a long freakin' time, but it fits me now...now that I've gained 10 lbs...*weak laughter*  HA, whatevs.  I'm gonna own it, hashtag no shame.
Anywho, let's take a look at my dress sans coat! This fab a-line dress has a glitter bodice, chiffon skirt, and open back. Lucky for you, it's currently on sale at Deb for $20.25 (originally $40.50) so cop it while you can!  FYI:  I have it in small, and it fits like a s/m.  You may want to size down!
Oh, and I accessorized with my fave statement earrings from Shop Aicee.  You guys need to check them out STAT.  They have so many beautiful pieces available online, and they carry new products every Tuesday.  FYI: use code NEWARRIVALS for an extra 15% off new stuffs.  Yeah, that's right, I said "stuffs", ha.

Soooo mustard may officially be my new fave color. Either that or I'm just obsessed with my new blouse, ha!  Love my new top from Fruitful concept.  It literally looks good with anything and everything.  I dressed it up for work today on SS, but I could easily see myself wearing it out with frands for a night on the town.  I'll have to re-style it for y'all at some point.  Anywho, if you're interested, it's available HERE for $32.50.  Also, make sure to use promo code HOLIDAY15 at checkout for an additional discount!
A closer look at my skirt courtesy of Blackfive.  Hands down, the cutest midi I own.  I have it in black as you can see, but it's also available in purple, green, and red.  Clicky HERE to purchase now! It's currently on sale for $23.99 (was $62.49).  Heads up, it's only available in "one size" which is mad deceiving because it fits like a size XS.  Just letting y'all know!

My At-Home Spa Routine

Alright guys, I'm all sorts of excited to share my at-home spa routine with y'all.  Let's be honest, we all get mad stressed and not all of us can afford to splurge on a luxe spa getaway sooooo here's my sensible (hardy har har) routine...

Use a hair masque.  I used to love taking super long/hot showers, but I stopped after I found out it was bad for you - apparently the hot water dries out your skin *BOO*  Anywho, after washing your hair, I recommend using a hair masque to hydrate your mane.  It doesn't have to be anything obnoxiously expensive!  Don't think pampering yourself should cost mad moolah.  You can do a fab job on a budget *smiles* I like using L'Oreal's Oleo Therapy Deep Recovery Mask ($8.99).

Apply a face mask.  I always have different options available.  I like experimenting with face masks because skincare's important to me.  When I'm breaking out, I like using Queen Helene's Mint Julep Masque ($3.99) - it works surprisingly well.  If I'm feelin' extra baller, I'll use a Fresh Face Mask from Lush.  I've tried Oatifix and Catastrophe Cosmetic - I like both, but I recommend the Oatifix.  It hydrates like whoa.

Use toner and an intensive face cream.  I actually use toner & face cream on the daily - you can skip the toner but make sure you use lotion/cream!  It's so important to moisturize.  There are a ton of amazing options out there with varying price-tags - let me know if you're looking for something a bit more affordable or expensive.  I'm pretty confident I can give y'all good advice on skincare *smiles* Anywho, my toner of choice is Sulwhasoo Balancing Water ($55) - expensive but hands down THE best toner I've EVER used.  It hydrates your skin while immersing it in essential nutrients.  My current cream of choice is Mario Badescu's Protein Night Cream ($22).

Take your time applying body lotion.  When I have an at-home spa night, I take my sweet time moisturizing all over.  I like using Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion ($9.99) - it's a long-time fave of mine.  I buy two-packs at Costco, ha!  Hey, what can I say?  I'm the SENSIBLE stylista after all, ha! Anywho, this lotion's legit - non-greasy, just the way I like it!

Focus on "rough" areas.  For my elbows and knees, I use a lil' extra somethin'-somethin' to get ultimate smoothness *smiles* I like using Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream ($16).  Some people don't like the scent, but I find it relaxing.  Maybe I'm just a masochist *shrugs*  This cream's CRAZY FYI. You'll wake up the next day and errthang will be moisturized.  I tried a sample of this and bought it IMMEDIATELY.  Yeah, I rarely do that so this cream's worth trying.

Don't forget to take care of your hands and feet.  I don't know about you guys, but when life gets crazy busy, I totally neglect my hands and feet aka they get real gnarly.  Slather on vaseline and throw on a pair of socks on your hands and feet.  It's kind of annoying, but you'll thank me when you wake up smooth all over, ha.  Hey, beauty takes work *winks*

Lay back and relax.  You can light some candles and turn on some soft music to set the mood or you can chill like I do aka binge-watch Netflix, ha!  So there you go.  My at-home spa routine.  How do you guys unwind?  Is there anything special you do to pamper yourself?

5 Korean Movies You Need to Watch STAT on Netflix

It's no secret that I love Netflix streaming, and I thought it'd be fun to do something non-fashion/beauty/fitness related for once sooooo here are my top 5 fave Korean films on NF.  I don't know if you guys are into subtitled films, but if you are, check these out fosho. Oh, and they're all BAMF action/thrillers.

1.  The Man From Nowhere - Freakin' a.  What a crazy movie!  Won Bin is a total bad-ass in this film. Unless you're a korean drama/film junkie, you prolly have no idea who he is so you'll have to trust me when I say he's legit. Basically WB, a mysterious widower, jumps to the aid of his young neighbor when she's kidnapped by a gang. Sounds generic but it's seriously' exciting.  Also, WB is sexy as hell so there's that.

2.  I Saw the Devil - Aiite, heads up!  This movie is crazy graphic/violent so if you don't have a strong stomach, pass on this rec.  Lee Byung Hyun, my fave korean actor, plays the lead in this movie.  He's a secret agent who seeks mad revenge on the serial killer who brutally killed his fiancĂ©e. FYI, this isn't some sick movie that's violent just for the sake of being violent (ie. Hostel) - there's legit acting in this.

3.  The Secret Reunion - An exciting movie fosho.  Basically, a South Korean agent (knowingly) hires a North Korean spy for freelance detective work after messin' up the arrest of a high-ranking assassin for redemption. See how it plays out!

4.  New World - I freakin' love gangster movies.  Probably the best korean version I've seen thus far. The lowdown: an undercover cop is ordered to influence the election of Korea's largest crime org.  How far will he go to protect himself?  Oooo, the suspense is totally killing you isn't it *grins*

5.  Commitment - Another film on North Korean espionage.  With his sister held captive, see what happens to a highly-trained 19-year-old North Korean when he's betrayed by his own government. This movie's like the korean version of Jason Bourne. Oh, and the main character is SMOKIN' hot.

Have you guys seen any of these?  Do you like subtitled movies?  Oh, and do you have any recs for me? I'm always lookin' for fun new movies to stream!
