Meet Me On Minetta

It's time for another DCP shoot, y'all!  Dennis and I snapped today's look on Minetta Street in Greenwich Village. He took one look at my dress and suggested this fabulous location.  And I'm so glad he did because, as you can very obviously see, it complements my outfit perfectly!  I've learned not to question Dennis because his eye's second to none, and he just gets me!  That's the great thing about him.  He understands + respects my aesthetic and yet, puts his own signature twist on errthang - he's the ideal collaborar for sure.  Check him out on IG HERE, and remember to hit him up if you need headshots.  His rate's SUPER reasonable, and he does a killer job!
Shooting in the Big Apple is always a good time - there's a cute nook around every corner, and no one gives AF what you're doing.  Like, I probably could've changed outfits in street, and it would've been fine. Le sigh - that's what I miss most about the city.  There's no judgement - you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, and it's all fine and dandy.
Now, onto today's OOTD! It was hot as hell so I threw on a sleeveless dress and put on boho-ish accessories to up my style game.  I pretty much live in dresses all year long, but especially during the summer when I feel like my face is melting off, ha!   God, is it fall yet? I don't know if I can handle any more of this heat!  Anywho, if you're interested, this adorable number is available HERE at Velvet Heart.  Made of 100% tencel, this baby will feel like butter on your skin.
A closer look at my shoes courtesy of Shoes.com.  I featured these baby HERE last week, but I just can't seem to get enough of 'em.  Who else here is a fan of gladiator sandals?  Oh, and which look do you guys prefer?  I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Here's a close-up shot of my dress courtesy of Velvet Heart!  I've been a fan of their line for years now, yet I fall more in love with them every day.  If you haven't checked them out yet, you need to do so STAT because you're missing out for realz.  They ooze California cool - think James Perse but 100000x better. To see more of their designs, keep scrolling - I created a widget of my faves for y'all below.

After we finished shooting, Dennis and I went to the Coffee Foundry to recharge.  This joint was seriously on point! I could've relaxed there all day.  My matcha green tea latte was nomtastic, and the place was SPOTLESS.  I'm super OCD & kind of a germaphobe so that's a huge compliment coming from me.  Like, I couldn't get over how clean everything was - the bathroom seriously sparkled.  If you're looking for a cool place to study, head on over to this cafe.  You're welcome in advance!  OH, and I forgot to mention that this place is a karaoke bar by night (!!!!!) Yeah, I def. wish I could've stayed a bit longer.  I would've totally hogged the mic, ha.

Straight Chillin' in Chelsea

Sharing my FINAL Stylinity collab with you guys today on SS.  I've partnered up with one of my favorite retailers, Shoes.com, for my latest!  As I'm sure you guys know, I love nude tones so I went with a understated but chic neutral color scheme for my LOTD.  I started with an effortlessly stylish tee dress from Chaser.  If you're unfamiliar with 'em, they're a contemporary line based in LA.  Their collection is fire!  I seriously love each and every piece I've gotten from their store, which is saying a lot since I'm picky as hell.  Their quality's legit - they use THE best fabrics and value comfort in addition to design.  Click here to see more from their line & click HERE to shop my OOTD.

To up my style game, I paired my dress with gladiators to instantly add fierceness.  If you're interested in these Michael Kors sandals, they're currently on sale for $157.99 (originally $224.95) at shoes.com.  You can also get an extra 25% off by clicking here.  If you're worried about getting blisters on the back of your feet, apply a bit of baby oil or vaseline to reduce friction.  If you find that to be too messy, check out this InStyle article on, "How to Prevent Blisters for Good."  Let me know if you have any questions by commenting below!
What happens when your photographer catches you mid-hair flip, ha!  A huge thanks to DCP New York for yet another fabulous collab.  We shot this together in Chelsea, and it was a blast, as always. There were a lot of really cool places to shoot there so we decided to take pics in a couple of different locations.

Make Me Over

1.  Aveda Shampure Shampoo ($13.50) - I can't even begin to tell you guys how much I love this shampoo. It's super gentle, and it works with all hair types.  It's infused with 25 pure flower + plant essences so it smells like heaven.  Note: a little goes a long way so don't go too crazy - a dime-sized amount will get the job done.  It lathers nicely and rinses out easily.  Yes, at $13.50 it's pricier than drugstore shampoos, but it's worth the extra cash. Your scalp will feel really clean, and your mane will feel ridiculously soft.  Rating:  5/5 because this item's bomb!

2.  Marc Jacobs Glow Stick ($42) - I find the effect of this luminizer intoxicating.  If you're looking to elevate your look for a special occasion, make sure you try this baby out at your local Sephora.  It gives you a very subtle but sexy glow that seriously wows.  I like to apply it with my finger and blend it with a sponge.  The color's really pretty (think champagne-esque),  and it'll stay on all night.  It contains shimmer, but it's tasteful, not tacky.  I recommend putting it on your cheekbones and décolletage.  It's also super buildable so you can layer all you want! Rating:  4.5/5 - it loses half a point for the price.

3.  Maybelline Lip Color Palette ($13.99) - Obsessed with this palette.  There are eight lippies total, and they're all pretty in their own right.  If you're not a fan of a particular color, no worries - you can mix and match to your heart's desire.  They're soft & super blendable so you can easily create your own custom shade/s.  The included lip brush works really well so application's easy.  I just wish there was a mirror! If you need to reapply, just make sure you have your cell phone handy because your cam conveniently doubles as a makeshift mirror! Rating:  4.3/5 - it gets 5 stars for color + finish, 3.5 stars for lasting power, and 4.5 stars for price.

4.  Supergoop Sunscreen Serum ($42) - If you're looking for a lightweight product that provides serious SPF protection + hydration, make sure to check this baby out.  It goes on a bit "thick," but once you rub it in, your skin eats it up within seconds.  There's no grease or white cast either.  I like to slather this on after washing my face first thing in the morning.  I personally haven't experienced any pilling, but I've heard that others have.  If you're worried, wait 15-20 minutes before applying BB cream/foundation/etc.  Rating:  4.5/5 - like the glow stick featured above, I deducted a half point for the price.

5.  Maybelline Master Contour Stick ($9.99) - This baby glides on smooth and is super easy to use.  Cream contouring seriously couldn't get any simpler - just outline your face with the stick and blend it all in with a sponge.  The effect's subtle so it all looks very natural.  If you want a more dramatic look, simply get your layer on. IMHO, the contouring side's BAMF, but the highlighter's just ok.  I sometimes use the latter on my under eye area + nose, but I prefer powder alternatives.  I own this product in "light," but it's also available in medium and dark.  Rating:  4/5 - minus 1 point for the highlighter.

6.  Pixi by Petra Multibalm ($12) - Available in 5 colors total, these multibalms are made with aloe vera, shea butter and rose hip oil.  These creamy sticks double as lippies & blushes, and they're quite pigmented.  My favorites are as follow: Baby Petal (a pretty medium pink), Wild Rose (a gorgeous mauve rose), and Watermelon Veil (a beautiful light pink).  As always, color's buildable so if you want a more intense look, simply layer and blend with a sponge.  This product gets a 5/5 for practicality, price and quality.
