Transitioning from Work to Play

Happy Monday, everyone.  I hope y'all had an AMAZING weekend!  To start off the week with a bang, I styled a FAB shift dress for you guys.  This gorg piece is from *drum roll, please* Almost Famous Clothing, DUH!  You all know how much I love their stuffs.  Anywho, this printed dress is absolutely PERFECT for work in the summer because it's loose - it helps me cope with the sweltering heat.  I don't know about you guys, but I feel like I'm melting every time I step outside, ha!  The weather has been 90+ degrees & humid.   UGH!

...I'm gonna stop complaining because I sound like a total downer right now, ha.  So, let's talk fashion.  Today's topic of choice = transitioning from work to play with ease.  Here's how you go from office-appropriate to hella sexy in seconds:

1.  Wear a chic dress to work.  It can be a printed number like I'm wearing below, a S(orta)LBD, or whatevs.  It's totally up to you!
2a.  Keep a pair of fierce heels + an evening bag in your car/drawer because you think ahead like a total BAMF.
2b.  Trade in your everyday tote and kitten heels for the aforementioned sexy ass heels + fab clutch.
3.  BAM! You're good to go.

...annnnd I really didn't need make a list, but that's ok, ha!  This isn't a must by any means, but I also recommend keeping some spare jewelry in your desk.  Accessories are magical.  They'll take you from "good" to "damnnnnnn."  Yeah, I'm all sorts of eloquent today! *grins*
Speaking of jewelry, let's take a closer look at my swag courtesy of Lavisha.  Talk about affordable luxury - both pieces are seriously on point!  My necklace is made with dazzling Swarovski crystals and is finely handcrafted with authentic 925 sterling silver.  It's on sale HERE for $29.99!  My earrings are silver + magenta cubic zirconia - available here for $51.99 (originally $85.99) - and they're approximately 1.5" long.  They look amazing for casual AND formal looks alike!  FYI: they offer free shipping + returns, and their packaging in impeccable! #TreatYourself

Beauty Trends: The Brow Edition

We've already talked about the top eye trends of this summer, but a gorgeous eye look isn't complete without perfect brows to match! If you wanna make sure your brows stay on fleek this summer, check out the following top eyebrow trends:

1. The Ombre Brow

This eyebrow trend is probably the most popular right now,  it's also commonly referred to as the "instagram brow." Like contouring, this trend actually started in the drag community. Basically, it's what it sounds like, an ombre'd eyebrow effect. The top of the brow is drawn in very lightly, and then slowly fades to dark and harsh at the end of the brow. This type of eyebrow looks amazing in pictures and flash photography, but be careful wearing it out, it can sometimes look a little too dramatic.

2. Thick Eyebrows

This may seem simple, but it's definitely a trend. A few years ago, supermodel Cara Delevingne got a lot of recognition for her amazing, outlandish style of eyebrows. However, now they're not considered crazy because everyone loves rocking a thick brow!  Thin, arched brows were popular in the 2000's; I'm glad to see that this 70's-inspired trend is coming back with a vengeance.

3. Eyebrow Extensions

This trend somewhat goes along with the thick eyebrow trend mentioned earlier. Eyelash and hair extensions are all the rage, it was only a matter of time before eyebrow extensions began! Now, they're here and in full swing. If you have little to no brow hair and want that thick eyebrow look, you can now go to a salon and get tiny little pieces of hair glued onto your brow bone!

4. Eyebrow Tattoos

Similar to brow extensions, this trend is for those of you who struggle with thin brow hair. If you have tons of sparseness in your brows and constantly have to fill them in, you may want to consider brow tattoos. They're literally just tattoos that you get on your brow bone and underneath your eyebrows.

For those of you interested, there are ton of different techniques available out there. For example, for people with sparse brows, the soft fill technique is best. Technicians simple take a light color and fill in the sparse areas. However, for people with absolutely no eyebrow hair, the full creation technique works best. In this technique, the tattoo artist uses strokes that mimic real hair, and create an entire brow.

Celeb Style For Less: Kylie Jenner

Over the past few months the youngest Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, has been getting a lot of attention. Her big lips, much older boyfriend, and crazy Instagram and Snapchat posts have been putting her in the media quite a bit. However, something that doesn't get enough attention is Kylie's amazing fashion sense. Although some of her actions may spark debate, there's no doubt that her outfits are on point! Here's how to achieve this adorable, effortless look for a fraction of what Jenner paid:
Pants: House of Fraser || Top: Etsy || Shoes: Cici Hot || Necklace: H&M || Bracelet: Kenneth Cole || Backpack: Vans

The most notable piece of this outfit is Kylie's logo tee that references the saying "Designated Ugly Fat Friend." This cute tank top can be purchased from Etsy for $20.  Her tank works perfectly with her light gray leggings, cut only in the knee. I have been crushing SO much on this style of jeans lately, and Kylie's look is no exception! These pants are only $25, an insane deal for denim, from House of Fraser.  Kylie's suede boots bring out the black lettering in her top and can be found at Cici Hot for $46.

Although you can't see the back of her look in this photo, Jenner's wearing a cute little black backpack with this look. I'm love wearing backpacks instead of purses when I can because it's so much easier to carry around, and you can fit in so much more! A perfect, reusable black backpack can be purchased from Vans for $45.

Finally, Jenner finishes off her look with tons of gold jewelry. The gold cuffs on her arm are no doubt the Cartier bracelets that she's so famous for wearing, however, they can cost anywhere from $6,300 all the way up to $15,600! Kenneth Cole sells similar ones for $45.  Her thin gold necklaces elevate her top - the gold makes it so much more elegant. This layered necklace can be found at H&M for only $6!
