Celeb Style For Less: Rihanna

Rihanna is famous for her amazing fashion sense - her hip-hop style of clothing is always on point. This gorgeous look is from a while back; she wore it out to dinner with Jennifer Lawrence back in 2013. However, Rih is always so fashion forward with her looks that this is an outfit most of us would still wear!

The standout piece in this outfit is Rihanna's skirt. Designers have been incorporating pale pink a ton (in their 2016 runway shows) so Rihanna knew what she was doing - she's definitely a trendsetter.  The easiest way to replicate this outfit is to find a skirt that's similar in color and silhouette.  The fabric's most likely expensive - it looks like it's made of silk - and the side embellishments probably bring the price way up.   Lucky for you guys, New Look sells this gorgeous pale pink midi skirt for only $23! Unlike Rih's, this piece is ribbed and polyester, but it is still absolutely gorgeous.

Her top is just a basic black crop that can be purchased anywhere. This specific shirt has a triangle top with very thin straps.  It's very similar to this LUCLUC shirt, which is being sold for $12. It's a jersey top with spaghetti straps, and it complements the New Look skirt perfectly!  In this look, Rihanna actually wore her gold body chain under her top instead of over like most people do! It accentuates her amazing body perfectly without detracting from her adorable crop top. Topshop carries a body chain that like Rih's. It's 32cm long - I recommend that you measure and make sure it hits you right above your hips for the perfect fit.

Her simple white shoes look chic and give her outfit an ombre affect: black to pale pink to white. If you look closely you can see that she also painted her toe nails to match.  Absolutely adorable, right? Although all stores sell strappy white heels, I recommend purchasing these Go Jane shoes.  They're especially cute, and they're available for only $21!

Finally, Rihanna's gorgeous gold jewelry ties the entire ensemble together. Her thick gold bangles contrast with the thin, delicate structure of her body chain. Similar sets can be purchased from Bloomingdale's for $30.  On another note, Rihanna is exposing a lot of skin in this look so if you'd rather not flash your stomach here are a couple of cute coverups that would look amazing with this outfit:

Hey errbody!  I hope y'all are having an amazing weekend thus far.  I've styled a glam OOTD for you guys today on SS.  I centered today's look around my new dress courtesy of Walk Trendy.  This adorable number is on point IMO - super comfy and cute.  Here's the 411 on the piece:

Heads up, the sleeves are on the longer side due to their bell-shaped design.  Also, I mentioned this already, but errthang here runs small so pay attention to measurements.  I can't stress that enough because asian stores run AT LEAST one size smaller.

Online Dating Pet Peeves

Alright guys, I know I don't usually blog about my personal life, but I thought it'd be fun to share for a change. As y'all know, I'm a pretty busy person.  I spend most of my time practicing piano, teaching, studying, blah blah blah so I don't have a chance to meet a ton of new people.  Therefore I decided to give online dating a try.

I joined a bunch of different sites (e-harmony, tinder, etc.) but they all kind of sucked.  Now I don't mean to bash 'em because I have friends who've had mad success with them, I'm talkin' marriage-success, but they just weren't for me and that's ok.  OKCupid seemed to suck the least so I stuck with that.

Now don't get me wrong.  There are definitely catches online, but dang, you realllllly gotta sift through to find that diamond in the rough.  And if you're a girl on OKC, you'll get bombarded with messages, which leads me to...

...things guys should NOT be doing on online dating sites. I think I speak on behalf of most girls when I say...

1.  Don't use a shirtless/headless profile pic.  Seriously, even if you have a body of a greek god, you'll look like a douche.  And why are you cropping out your face? Makes us all wonder.

2.  Do NOT send ethnic girls/WoC messages in Korean/Japanese/Chinese/etc. unless you can't speak english.  I know freetranslator.com is tempting but no.  Just don't.  It's actually pretty offensive, and by "pretty" I mean REALLY.

3.  Do not get pissy if we don't write back.  Don't be THAT guy.  If you're gonna badger a girl about visiting - OKC lets you know when someone checks out your profile - and not responding, you're just gonna look like a whiny b*tch.  Move on and let it go - plenty of fish in the sea!

4.  When OKC asks you to list "Six Things I Could Never Do Without", do not list "water" and "air".  WTF...Seriously? Do you think you're being cute? Don't list those as answers because we'll most likely think you're boring, corny and lame.

5.  When you first message us on OKC, use correct spelling so we know you are literate.  Do not write "where r u from" - not hot!  And also while you're at it, learn the difference between your/you're and their/there/they're.  SMH.  If you're not sure, I suggest googling all that STAT... or going back to high school, shieeeet.
