Sensible Stylista

Good Times in Hollywood

YAY! Time for Sensible Stylista x Ryan Chua: Part 2.  For this shoot, we went to Melrose Avenue. What a cool freakin' area - it was definitely one of my fave spots in LA!  The boutiques were awesomesauce, and the people were ridiculously stylish.  I swear California has such beautiful people.

I don't remember the name of this store, but ISN'T IT BAMF? Look at the (fake but still gorg) flowers!  I totally flipped when I saw this.  I felt like I was in Alice in Wonderland or somethin'.  Anywho, Ryan thought it'd be cool to shoot here because my look matched the store!  FYI:  everything I'm wearing here is old except my shoes.  I copped those recently at TJ Maxx for $30 - yay for great deals.
I absolutely love shift dresses.  They're so comfy!  I wear 'em out when I want to eat a lot so I can totally stuff my face and still feel good about myself, HA.  I had SO much good food on this trip.  LA is foodie paradise - on that note, come friend me on Yelp!  I'm super proud that I'm an "elite" yelper.   Yes, I am a nerd, and no, I'm not sorry.

I actually had a weird experience before shooting this look.  Ryan had taken me to Hollywood Boulevard - yes I know it's super touristy, don't judge - and all these peeps were harassing me, trying to sell me all sorts of sh*t I didn't want.  Man, it was REALLY stressful!  One dude shoved his CD into my hand and asked me for my name so he could sign it.  I didn't want to be rude so I accepted even though I didn't want to which was fine UNTIL he freakin' told me I owed him money for it!  WHAT THE EFF!  Who does that?

I'm a musician myself so I totally understand, but damn, get your work out via YouTube or somethin'.  Don't harass errbody around you.  He got all pissy when I told him I didn't have cash and demanded that I give his CD back.  SMH!  No problem bro, I didn't want it in the first place.  ANYWHO, lesson learned!  I will no longer be nice to meanies trying to rip me off.
Phew!  That was a long story.  Sorry to get off topic!  Anywho, lemme give y'all outfit deets...

The City of Angels

Super excited to share today's post with you guys because it's the first of SIX shoots I did with the incredible Ryan Chua (my fave fashion photographer + friend).  Anywho, I met up with him in LA for a weekend of blog stuffs and fun!  I had a blast exploring la-la land. Amazing weather, delish food, beautiful peoples, and great company.  I mean, what's NOT to like?

For today's post, I styled a casual look for y'all featuring pieces from Charlotte Russe, BCBG, and more.  I had just gotten off my plane (5+ hours of traveling) so excuse me if I look scrubby.  I wore my fave faux-leather skirt for you guys - I copped it at a BCBGMaxAzria factory outlet a million years ago for a ridiculously low price.  I actually think it's still available online, ha.  I'll make sure to link it below so keep an eye out.
A full body shot for you guys.  My cropped sweater's new BTW.  I bought it at a Charlotte Russe Factory Outlet during Memorial Day sales.  They had a ridiculous promo going on - 50% off already-reduced merchandise - so I purchased it for $5 (!!!) Yeah, definitely hitting up that outlet again.  Their stuff is SO cute - I got 12 different things for under $50.  That's what I call "sensible" shopping, hardy har har.
A closer look at my J!NS sunnies.  I'm seriously lovin' their designs.  Shop their collection HERE.  Where do y'all shop for shades?
I heart these gladiators so much.  I got them c/o Deb way back in the day, but they're still my fave summer shoes.  I really need to buy a flat pair of glads though - that's on my to-do list, ha.
